Getty ImagesThe San Diego Chargers are once again likely to be blacked out on local television on Sunday.
The team announced that 12,000 tickets are unsold for Sunday’s game against the Bengals, making it a near certainty that the game will be blacked out.
Although the Chargers have sold out their last six prime time games, this would be the Chargers’ eighth blackout in the last 16 afternoon games.
Barring a corporate sponsor stepping up to buy those thousands of tickets, Sunday will mark the Chargers’ third sellout of the season. San Diego’s final two home games, against the Panthers and Raiders, might be their fourth and fifth blackouts of the year.

Raider game hasn’t been blacked out in over 40 years, it won’t be blacked out.
“Barring a corporate sponsor stepping up to buy those thousands of tickets, Sunday will mark the Chargers’ third sellout of the season?”
Yet people always say that Florida can’t support three teams, never mind Cali.
SD ” Charger Fans ” at the outdoor ice skating rink in Coronado Island, working on their tans, showing off their new Oakleys and babbling about the new surf video game. Pathetic. Send them the “Black Hole ” to learn how a real NFL fan supports their team.

The silence is deafening, they can’t move this team soon enough.
Big news of the day
LA Chargers
Dear Mr. Spanos: Good move keeping Nerf & A.J. around for another season. Now you’ve got exactly what every owner wants: a flaccid product, disinterested fan base, and acres of empty seats. That’s quite a product you’re producing. Hint: be a man and do something about this mess.
And the winner in all this is … … … Eli Manning. Two time Superbowl MVP. Who spent about 4 hours as a Charger. The longest and least productive 4 hours of his life.
This team has LA written all over it. The stadium is a dump and the fans never show up.

Elway and Jackson had the option of playing baseball. Manning did not, but still managed to dodge the draft bullet and pick his team. I mocked him at the time, but it was a smart play.
The Chargers doesn’t know how to take care of their fan base.
The fastest way to sell those tickets is to FIRE NORV NOW!
I still find it amusing that the Chargers fired Marty Shottenheimer for Norv Turner.
Combine the DisChargers and the Faiders and create the ultimate SuperSuck team. Then let them play the Jets every week. Joey from Canada (who had to watch a Dolts game to see decent blocking) can coach them, and we can all laugh every Sunday.
The Chargers actually draw better than 7 other teams (including the Cardinals and Bengals who both play in new stadiums). The problem is Qualcomm is too big and hard to sell out.
Chargers are going to be blacked out the rest of the way. They’re going to lose out their season, fire Turner and Smith, trade Rivers, move to LA and get new uniforms.
Can they just knee out the season and be done with it already?
