I dont really think McCoy is the better choice, but the difference is so marginal…

That a first round pick for a 30 year old was not warranted.

Its not him thats making this offense go…

Its TRich, GLittle and JGordon… For 100000% fact.

If you think McCoy is a better choice than Weeden, you don’t know football period. As Browns fans, we refuse to let a talent learn and progress. McCoy has no arm strength and can’t throw in bad weather at all. Look at the tapes from last year. He’s a great kid but he’s not an NFL starter. Weeden has much to bring to the table. Another year should show just that.

You mean besides the TD pass to Jordan Cameron, the comeback route to MoMass near the goalline, the swing passes to Trent, and the crossing route completions to Josh Gordan? …. And that was just from memory of their most recent game.

I can understand if you don’t like Weeds, but at least be honest and fair in your critiques.

No doubt McCoy has alot of fans, albeit most are UT fans.. Heck I am a fan of him. But, IF you have watched the Browns under both QB’s (without bias) there is absolutely no doubt Weeden is the better QB, and he hasn’t been in the league for 3 years either (I don’t care about his age, QB’s play into their 40′s). You have to stretch the field in the NFL or the defenses will smother you, the Browns learned this last season. Colt was given 18-20 games or so. If he was such a great QB, someone would have traded for him as QB’s are in such high demand, didn’t happen and won’t, unless someone needs a backup.

Weeds is not the answer. And even he he DOES get it together, he’ll be too old too soon. And there are no legit starters coming up in next year’s draft either. Face it Browns fan (I’m one) we’re screwed for years to come.

Weeden throws the same 5 yard passes only difference is Colt actually completes them. I haven’t seen Weeden complete one pass all year outside the hash marks. He locks on to one receiver and doesn’t look through his progressions. He failed at baseball how can he possibly succeed as an NFL QB?

Weeden isnt going to be on this team within 2 years…

Colt may still be on this team, as he’ll only be 28 in the next 2 years.

Weeden is so terribly awful, he very well may be the worst pick ever in the history of the draft.

Actually dude, the knock was on Shurmur. If you watched the Browns when Colt was under center last year Shurmur called nothing but 5 yard slants.
Now if you are watching the Browns this year there is a few more 10 yard and more pass attempts.
So logic would say, Shurmur does not feel confident with McCoy enough to open up the play book, therefore we would see nothing but 5 yard passes. This is common sense when McCoy has not had very many reps with the first team offense and needs to get his timing down in a week.

McCoy’s been with that team three years and probably has a far greater understanding of it than that joke you’re all in love with. One deep pass attempt a game then a bunch of dump-offs. Yeah, litte Brandon isn’t “pradicatble” at all.

Funny how your hero Weeden is so far down in the QB ratings that he barely beats Matt Cassel. THAT”s what you guys think is an awesome rookie season. LOL

Rather than hoping for a “storyline to a meaningless game,” wouldn’t you prefer having the rookie starting quarterback take as many reps as possible this year so that he can be properly evaluated and maybe even develop some confidence if he can lead the team to another victory?

Bummer, McCoy starting would have added a storyline to a meaningless game. Oh well. I guess we just watch RG3 and cry in our cups over what should have been.
