APThe Giants placed cornerback Michael Coe on season-ending injured reserve earlier this month, but his season hasn’t ended.
Coe was released off of injured reserve by the Giants on Monday and his season will continue in Miami. The Dolphins announced Wednesday that they have signed Coe to their 53-man roster. They opened up a spot on Tuesday by releasing guard Ryan Durand.
Coe was originally a fifth-round choice of the Colts in 2007 and played six games for them as a rookie. He played for the Jaguars in 2009 and 2010 before moving on to the Giants later in the 2010 season. He played 21 games overall for the Giants and started once this season before moving back into a reserve and special teams role before his injury.
He’ll likely be filling the same role in Miami. Sean Smith and Nolan Carroll start on the corners for the Dolphins, who host the Patriots this Sunday, and their depth at the position took a hit earlier in the year when Richard Marshall was placed on injured reserve.

Ross is actually allowing Ireland to sign players with his track record? He’s either very rich or stupid.

We can only hope Coe isn’t the latest FA flop Ireland brings in.
Joining: Karlos Dansby, Matt Moore, Reggie Bush, Davon Bess, Anthony Fasano, Kevin Burnett, Randy Starks, Cam Wake, etc.
In the league for 5 years and hasn’t gotten past the reserve/special teams roll. Don’t have much faith in this signing.
The Fins signed who and cut who to replace him. What a joke. Maybe I’ll throw my hat in the ring as a free agent.
He’s the 53rd man on the team. My God, I doubt that they consider him a pro bowler. The criticism of this team has gotten positively asinine.
You guys are kinda ridiculous…. What do you want? This guy is available one day before the start of week 13. Do you think game breaking corners are available now? He will probably make the vet minmum, and is just being brought in for spot duty.
See Kevin Ogletree in the first game against the Giants this season. See his stats since. Have fun.
Although he eventually did get hurt…
it just a signing to add to special teams, unit gave up 2 td returns the last 2 weeks, Ireland trying to sure it up.
Why bash Ireland over the signing of a bench player?
Get a life and quit regurgitating old media opinions.
All in all the team is moving in the rite direction. We have waited along time for this. This signing is pretty insignificant. We will build through the draft.
