Getty ImagesYou can argue that it was a pass that shouldn’t have been thrown, but Ray Rice made the play of the week, thus was given AFC offensive player of the week.
Rice took a check-down pass on fourth-and-29 and somehow converted it, helping to tie the Ravens game at San Diego, which they’d go on to win in overtime.
That wasn’t the only play he made, as he finished with 164 total yards from scrimmage (97 rushing, 67 receiving).
He leads the AFC in yards from scrimmage with 1,198 (794 rushing, 404 receiving) for the 9-2 Ravens.

I love when people say that Ravens wins are a fluke, and point out things like 4th & 29, conveniently forgetting….
for it to be 4th & 29, the Refs would have to have called a soft holding penalty that nullified a great catch by Jones and another one by Smith.
The whole point of the NFL game, is to be on top when the clock runs out.
That is all.
Both NFC and AFC offensive players of the week came against god awful defenses. The NFL can’t keep their fines, awards, or the referees consistent.
Deserved I guess…
More impressed with Andre Johnson’s outperformance of Calvin Johnson. 188 yds with over 100 of those coming late in the 4th qtr and OT. #clutch
Dre’s 5 day out put of 461 yds (yes that is not a typo 461 yds in 2 games) is the most over in a two game stretch in NFL history.
hey diddle diddle, ray rice up the middle.

Best RB in the league

Umm no… Adrian Peterson, and it’s not even close!
He only went 28 yards.
Luckiest and worst 9 and 2 team. One of those seasons where alot of stuff goes there way. I seriouslly at this point would not be shocked if they went to superbowl and won even with a third string qb
Hey Ray…
Didn’t see the 29th yard.
Signed

suprised sanchez didnt get it
40 yards total the week before. Don’t forget that. Best in the league, please….

Actually the holding call was on first down from a -5 yard dump off to Ray Rice and then Flacco threw two incompletions and then got sacked-fumbled for a 9 yard loss to make it 4th & 29.
Otherwise I agree with everything else you said
Flacco is Bledsoe 2.0
Ray Rice > any steeler running back
…and its not even close
Keep on hating, haters. You wish you had Ray Rice
I don’t think any player means more to their team than Ray Rice to the Ravens.
I dont see why all the talk is about how great of play Ray Rice made? It was the Elite QB Joe Flacco that made the pass to him, he should get the credit.
The Texans and Patriots better take notice! The Ravens are for real and they will dominate them or anyother tean on the way to their superbowl championship!
Joe Flacco > then any QB that has ever played
I would say the Rice is not even close when it comes to the race for best in the league…
Hes pretty close he does everything he can run, receive, get yards after the catch and after first contact and can block…Peterson is great but not multi dimensional…
Also he made that first down quit crying! And the worst 9-2 team that makes not sense they are 9-2…you can keep your good 5-5 teams…oh and luck has no place in sports people execute the plays…go to vegas if you want luck or Indianapolis!
