A day later, Bart Scott says he respects Jets fans

A day after Bart Scott said he doesn’t care that fans boo the Jets because he doesn’t respect their opinions and thinks they were probably the last ones picked for dodgeball, Scott has reconsidered.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for fans and what they do and the sacrifices that they make,” Scott said on Thursday, via the New York Daily News. “And I’m aware of that.”

Scott said he understands that when a team suffers an embarrassing loss like the Jets did on Thanksgiving, it’s natural for the paying customers to express their frustration.

“You have freedom of speech,” Scott said. “You can’t censor what people say or what people believe. So you can’t fight battles with everybody. I know the fans support this team. We’re out there trying. At the end of the day, we’re embarrassed too.”

In feeling embarrassed by the Thanksgiving game, Scott and Jets fans can find common ground.

Bart Scott is vastly overrated. He belongs on a team like the Dallas Cowboys. All bark, no bite.

Good, because they don’t respect him.

A professional athlete has integrity, therefore Bart Scott is not a professional athlete.

They need to make the stands a lot closer in the NFL, you know where you’re like a foot away like in WWE. Then fans can heap verbal abuse on clowns like Bart Scott. All players should have to run a fan guantlet to get from the field to the locker room.

    Bart Scott is a loser.

He may be a rich loser, but all you have to do is go to and look at the standings to see that they are 4-7. He also doesn’t have impressive personal production to justify the money he has made in addition to he and his team losing too many games.

He can indeed freely say all he wants, but what can he say to justify that he is not a loser is all that matters in the end to Jets fans. The answer at this time is nothing.

What a tool this guy is. We all know you look down on fans Scott, but you sure like the pay checks you’ve earned. PR people must have reminded you that sales and revenue are the driving force in the NFL, and without fans, you’d be just like the rest of us who play football for fun.

I always love the “I’m a pro athlete and you’re not” card.

I saw a lot of guys, outstanding college athletes absolutely get their butts handed to them in the military.

Hey Bart – how about you fly down to Coronado and see how long you last in BUDs and then we’ll talk about who’s a better person due to their athletic ability.

Bart needs to remember those fans were Jets fan before him and will be Jets fans after him. Some fans of every team are drunk or stupid (or both) but most just want to see their team win and games like the Pats game stink. Of course they’re angry.
