“I have a tremendous amount of respect for fans and what they do and the sacrifices that they make,” Scott said on Thursday, via the New York Daily News. “And I’m aware of that.”
Scott said he understands that when a team suffers an embarrassing loss like the Jets did on Thanksgiving, it’s natural for the paying customers to express their frustration.
“You have freedom of speech,” Scott said. “You can’t censor what people say or what people believe. So you can’t fight battles with everybody. I know the fans support this team. We’re out there trying. At the end of the day, we’re embarrassed too.”
In feeling embarrassed by the Thanksgiving game, Scott and Jets fans can find common ground.
