the word “ambush” makes one think this was a set up.
wonder if there could be more to the story ?
had these 2 men had any previous issues?
just sounds strange that he would call with a suicide story….shoot one (not both) of the responding officers and then apparantly allow the other to take him in to custody.
and he was reportedly in a “good mood” when arrested?
all sounds pretty strange

That man put his life on the line daily to protect and serve and restore order. And that scum bag to the life of a man providing for his family…hope that sad excuse of man spends the rest of his miserable life in a prison until the feeling of his sad life leaves his body. #thinblueline

There are memorial funds set up for Tom Decker’s family at two banks in Cold Spring.

The First National Bank of Cold Spring and the State Bank of Cold Spring are collecting donations. Residents can drop off checks at the buildings.

Checks can be mailed to State Bank of Cold Spring, PO Box 415, Cold Spring, MN 56320.

Checks also can be mailed to First National Bank, PO Box 416, Cold Spring, MN, 56320.

If you go to odmp.org that is a site that lists all officers killed in the line of duty. It also gives a brief bio of the officer and the incident in which he was killed. It also offers information on funds or other wishes from the family and/or department. God Bless Officer Decker.

There were a lot of negative comments about police in the Adrian Peterson arrest in Houston story. I hope this reminds everyone that, although no one is perfect, these people put it all on the line to protect us.
