I love that Jay is the Bears QB, and to be honest I believe he is the best option for this team, although Aaron Rodgers would also have success behind our dreadful o-line, since GB has the same issues up front.

As for ‘elite’ guys like the Mannings, Brees, and Brady, I doubt they’d be half as good playing with the lack of protection and average (except for Marshall this year) WR corps Cutler has endured since arriving in Chicago.

For all the dopey Cutler haters. He is 15 – 5 in his last 20 starts. He led the Bears to an 11-5 season and the NFC championship in 2009. A 7-3 record and sure playoff spot last year if not for injury. Again, this year heading for the playoffs with an 8-3 record. All with the worst line in football. Before you try to discredit with the Bears dominate defense crap, look what that defense has done without him – lose. You sad sack bottom feeders in Detroit and Tampa wish you had a QB that could actually win. Eat it!

Sissy, Cutler played the remaining 5 minutes of the 1st half, and the start of the 3rd with a torn MCL in the NFC champioship game.

He completed a game against the Giants with a concussion. He played 2 series with a broken thumb against San Diego which he later had surgery with pins placed in his thumb. He played 2 series against the Texans with a concussion. Sissy, I think not.

Cutler would bend you into a pretzel and take your lunch money as you cry for mommy !

Imagine if the Bears had an actual NFL O-line. They would be unstoppable. I lived in Chicago from 1978-88, and watched the Bears every week. I saw them go from Payton left, Payton right, Payton middle, punt, to the Superbowl.

The last good QB Chicago has was Jim McMahon. People rag on him, but he ran the Bears very well. At one point, the Bears were 26-0 in games McMahon played at least one half. Unfortunately, injuries limited his career (Charles Martin, I’m looking at you), and the Bears have not had much luck in the QB position since. (It almost seems at times that they don’t even value the position, in some weird way. He’s just the guy to hand off the ball to the RB.)

They’re starting to get away from the 3 yards and a cloud of dust school of football, but they still need to improve their O-line. If they can keep Cutler upright they have a much better chance of winning. If they can’t protect Cutler, they definitely need a better backup QB. The Caleb Haney and Jason Campbell stuff ain’t working. (Although, it you have an O-line that isn’t a turnstile, your backup QB has a much better chance of success).

I wasn’t a Cutler fan at first, but despite his apparent poor attitude, he does a heck of a job, considering how little time he typically has to throw the football. You are what your record says you are, and Cutler’s record says he’s a winner.
