Going into this season the Raiders, as presently constructed, were not a serious Super Bowl contender. At best, they were a 7 to 9 win team with not much to build on for the future. Might as well blow it up and start over. What I’m mainly looking for is effort and improvement.

Well here are reggies top 10 decisions, 2013 cap numbers. DMC- 8 million, Tommy Kelly- 9.3 million, carson Palmer- 17 million, Rolondo- 6.7 million, DHB-10.6 million, Seymour 16.3 million, Huff 11.3 million, Branch 10.9 million,Brisiel 5 million. Also need to ask are seabass and shane each worth 3.5…….for a 53 man roster, that is about 70% for above, and 30% for the other 40…….in all fairness to reggie he walked into this mess (except branch)….Reggie has made some solid moves thus far…only ones i have questioned are releasing dvd, and now wondering about brisiel…….i think he will be solid in the war room as well..

Bottom line , this is the first time the raiders have ever rebuilt their team. Al Davis just reloaded.

Extra draft picks and more cap room when McReg finishes the house clean will enable him to upgrade from bottom of the barrel FAs. Gota figure out the Qb situation and decide wether they stick with Carson, move forward with Terrell Pryor, or take one in the draft assuming we’re in one of the top spots in the draft. It’s still kinda funky right now but I think next year the smell of fresh air will bring a sigh of relief to the Raiders, they’ll be relevant again. The only question then will be left is will it be in Oakland or L.A.?

RM and DA need at least one more season to see how things go. There was too much of a mess inherited to turn things around in 1 year. But BOTG coordinators definitely need to go!

What we’re really not happy about is that we’re stuck with this coaching staff for at least 1-2 more years. Because of the old adage “you can’t fire a coach after one year.”

Reggie Mac just needs to realize that Dennis Allen is a good talker and pulled the wool over his eyes in the interview. Like big Al used to say. I rather be right than to be consistent.

This is the Raiders, baby. We don’t do things the right way, the wrong way..we do it the Raider Way. We don’t want to be just another team in the NFL.

I think your right I been thinking we should make a change, but maybe give DA another year maybe 2. He needs to change his coordinators though. If we change coaches this year it has to be big, I was thinking Gruden, but I would rather someone with a track record of making a team tuff someone that will bring respect back.

As painful as it is to watch the Raiders at the moment, for the first time in a long time I feel that things will improve. I trust RM to fill out the roster wisely in the next couple of years and DA should not be judged until the end of the 2014 season.

I am tired of hearing the excuse that Allen inherited a team with no talent. Kamerion Wimbley is the only player they lost that could be considered an impact player. The rest were garbage. Hue Jackson had this team on the way to a division title but all the injuries were too much to overcome. Hue should have never been let go. Dennis Allen was brought in to help the defense and it’s the worst its been in years. He brought in Gregg Knapp to run his offense who sucked his first time around with the Raiders and who runs a zone blocking system that McFadden was known to struggle with. Its just one bad move after another. I finally thought there was hope for the Raiders the way they were playing last season but the more things change for this team the more they stay the same.

It’s very possible that the guy sets the franchise record for passing yards this year, but the media acts like he’s hot garbage. Hasn’t turned the ball over as much as guys like Matt Ryan or Drew Brees and probably half his picks have been the fault of receivers running the wrong route or having the ball bounce off their hands.

Of course, the Bengals did get our 1st round pick. Last I looked that guy has 0 INTs, 0 sacks, 0 forced fumbles, 0 fumble recoveries and 4 tackles on the season.

Yup, Raiders sure were fleeced in that trade. Those 1st round picks are like gold. Just look at Rolando McClain.

Raider fans should be happy to see the comment about Allen being a “rookie.” There IS a learning curve to being a head coach, just like anything.

Changing coaches now would just set your team back another year. The problem, clearly, is they inherited a team with mediocre talent, no cap room…and no draft picks.

You couldn’t fix the Raiders for 2012 with the world’s biggest roll of duct tape.

Add Teo and some talent to the defense, get a couple of vets in free agency for the offensive line, and the Raiders are an 8-8 team in ’13 with a framework for the future.

As a Raider fan, Carson Palmer was worth the trade…..Raiders haven’t had a credible Qb since Gannon…and even Gannon choked in the big games…..Unfortunately for the haters…Not everybody is lucky enough to have a Brady, Manning, or Rodgers….. so in the meantime….to us Desperate Raider fans…after a season with Tui, Mirers, McCown, Walters, and of Course Russell…..Carson Palmer is perfect!

Contrary to samurai3939′s comment, there is still Talent on this Defense with of courseNnmandi and Kimbley being gone, . This is the same Squad that Under John Marshall tied for 1st in Sacks in a season and granted, were mediocre to poor at stopping the run. In typical Al Davis fashion, he doesn’t like aggressive newer model defenses and he fired Marshall paving the way to sorry a$$ excuse for a D coord that was Chuck Bresnahan. So the issues lies in the coaching scheme in my opinion….everybody looks out of sync on D and O.

Does anyone realize how difficult it is to come into a team with no draft picks until the FINAL pick of the FOURTH round? And to not have the salary to pick up a descent player in free agency? But Reggie still manages to pick up quality players like:
Juron Criner
Rod Streater
Miles Burris
Phillip Wheeler
Joselio Hanson

I mean just imagine what kind of players he can find with a salary and some draft picks.

And Dennis Allen has brought something to the Raiders that no other coach has.. DISCIPLINE. Cancel out the mini brawl between the Bengals and they are virtually playing SMART football and not killing themselves with penalties like they have in the past..

Give these 2 some draft picks and a salary to work with and they’ll be contending in the AFC West in no time.

They’re going to overhaul a team with a bad attitude and fire the HC after one season. Actually sounds like literally nothing is going to change in Oakland. Come on, Raiders. Give the guy a chance to build his roster. He inherited a team with (surprise) a bunch of bad characters and malcontents. Give him at least 3 years. Jesus.

this is basically the same team that had us a game away from the playoffs last year with Davis. knapp/allen are the only major changes. retread and the rookie. bad bad combo.
BTW everyone wanted slolando and praised the the raiders for the pick. if he was any good he’d at least be a bright spot.
take him… he can shoot at the wrong holes on your team;)

some people just don’t know football and post stuff they have no clue tired of hearing “the RAIDERS fire coaches all the time” do they not realize Al past away and he was firing the coaches??clueless..And for them people also say like they do every year RAIDERS don’t have players WTH really what we have last 2 years then. What does Bill B. have over on the Pat’s then?? you don’t hear of them till they start winning. Bring in a good OC or bring back Gruden.
