You are incorrect about “most everyone was still healthy” when they lost to the Raiders and Titans. Please go check the injury reports for those games. Further, Ben does not play every position on the team, he is not that versatile. And finally, I would say the same thing about when you make a comment, which is mostly hating on Ben for some reason only you know, which the stats don’t support. Thanks.

BTW, they beat the Ravens yesterday, so your comment about “the 2012 Steelers simply aren’t very good” is not necessarily true.

Interesting. I always had the impression that winning regular season games counts, otherwise you don’t get a chance to be in the Super Bowl. Who knew.

um no the purpose of winning games in the reg season is to make it to the playoffs so u can have a shot at playing in the SB…..for example the giants got in last year with a 9 -7 record and won it ALL…see how that works??

Also, when was the last time the Ravens beat the Steelers in the playoffs (you know, when the games really count towards winning a real Super Bowl)?

Ravens have the division, and at best we’ll end up with a six seed. So now we’re playing with house money. Get everyone healthy and see what we can do.

BTW, give the Ravens their due — this is four straight wins against us (some with Ben, some without), so they’re doing something right. Next time though, Ravens, just don’t drop a pass in the end zone or have your kicker miss a chip shot field goal — otherwise we’re going to be subjected to another Pats team in the SB (providing the Black & Gold don’t run the table).

What happened to “next man up”? Let’s also not forget that the Raven’s defense is also suffering from a lot of injuries. The players any team puts on the field is all that matters. There are no asterisks on wins and losses.

Frankly from a strategy point of view, even if Ben could play it is smarter to save him for the late season run than risk extending an injury by playing a rival in a game that frankly will have little outcome in the standings for the Steelers.

Look at it this way, The Steelers have as many SB appearances as the Ravens have division titles since 2006.

Our 2nd string QB with broken ribs was inches away from victory (fade to Wallace in the EZ) against the Ravens whose offense failed to get into the end zone once. Our QB will now be downgraded even further and the O-line will have it’s umpteenth configuration for the season. The Steelers defense must step way way up (minus Woodley) in this contest and deliver another shut-down performance in front of the Ravens home crowd. It will be epic if achieved.

I think pencilling in a Steelers loss this weekend isn’t a bad way to go, but I wouldn’t be ready to put the Bengals over the Chargers just yet – long trip to the West Coast against a team that will be playing mad.

Even if they do jump them they’ve still got to come to Pittsburgh and play Baltimore in Week 17 who will likely be looking at Home Field…

Good call for Ben’s health, though. He would have been out there with 11 lasers painted on his chest. Him playing would be akin to Tomlin calling in an airstrike on his own position.

As much as it pains me to say it as a Steeler fan, good job Ravens. They won the games they were supposed to win, and the Steelers didn’t (see Oakland and Tennessee), or they would only be a game behind Baltimore still fighting for the division and basically guaranteed a playoff spot.

So back to reality – four very winnable games remain, 3 of them at home. A playoff spot still is very much within reach.
