There’s no right way to do things, but at the same time, there’s no wrong way to do it either. In addition to playing the game, a moment of silence for victims of domestic violence is probably the best way to go.

I don’t envy the KC organization at all. They definitely don’t want to bring attention to Belcher specifically due to the circumstances of events. The WWE kind of got in a bit of a bind when they did these public displays of mourning and remembrance for Chris Benoit…before they actually knew he had murdered his entire family first. It made for awkward coverage…after the fact. Tough situations all around.

Again…KC will probably be best doing a moment of silence and leave it at that.

I really feel for the team officials that had to witness something like that (Rac and Scott Pioli)…there definitely is no way they could have been prepared for that OR the after effects. There is no chapter in the GM book or HC book that covers something like this. My thoughts to everyone impacted by this awful mess.

Kudos to those who suggested some sort of help for the little girl who will grow up without her parents for reasons she or anyone else will never know. Heartbreaking.

I can’t imagine how hard this is for a team to deal with…such a sad and unprecedented situation. I hope for the players and the coaches and anyone else involved that the field provides some sort of a safe haven or a place to free thier minds at least for a moment.

The players, or at least their representatives, want to play. These were the people who were day-to-day closest to the deceased. I don’t believe that anyone should overrule them.

I hope the Chiefs and the NFL will setup a trust fund or something for the little girl that will now grow up with no parents. Breaks my heart.

You can’t tell people how to grieve. If playing makes it easier for the players, then who are we to say no.

And the reality is, what is the difference if you play tomorrow or wait another 24 or 48 hours? Nothing. Two people are tragically dead and an infant is parentless regardless of the day played.

Let the players play if they want.
