The Houston Texans are going to the playoffs.

An easy 24-10 win in Tennessee on Sunday clinched a playoff berth for Houston, which has owned the best record in the AFC all year and will spend the final four weeks of the season trying to earn home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Texans jumped out to an early lead when Matt Schaub hit Lestar Jean for a 54-yard touchdown on the first possession, built on the lead when Schaub hit James Casey for a five-yard touchdown later in the first quarter, and pretty much put the game away when Arian Foster scored a two-yard touchdown to make the lead 21-3 in the second quarter. The Titans hung in there and the game wasn’t a blowout, but there was never much doubt that the Texans would win.

Just as there’s never been much doubt that the Texans are an AFC playoff team. Everyone has expected all season that the Texans would be in the mix in January, and everyone was right. The 11-1 Texans now have four more games in the regular season, and if they win them, then the road to the Super Bowl in the AFC goes through Houston.
