Vikings squander another long Peterson run

AP

Leading 14-10 at the start of the third quarter, the Vikings had a chance to get some separation from the Packers.

And running back Adrian Peterson did his part, reeling off a 48-yard run after the opening kickoff went out of bounds.

After a four-yard run from Peterson put the ball at the Green Bay eight, quarterback Christian Ponder rolled right and then threw the ball into the end zone.

Unfortunately for Ponder and everyone else in purple, Packers safety Morgan Burnett was there.  And he caught the ball.  And now the Packers are driving.

Peterson currently has 178 yards on 15 carries.  He has 1,404 for the season.
