Kenny Phillips and Jason Pierre-Paul will play against Redskins

Green Bay Packers v New York Giants

The Giants defense had a couple of question marks heading into Monday night’s game, but both of them have come up with happy answers for the team.

Kimberly Jones of the NFL Network reports that coach Tom Coughlin said that safety Kenny Phillips and defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul will both be in the lineup against the Redskins. Phillips was listed as doubtful on Saturday after hurting his knee in last week’s win over the Packers. It was his first game back from an extended absence thanks to a sprained MCL, but this one isn’t keeping him out nearly as long.

Pierre-Paul missed two days of practice last week because of back problems and was listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report. The team was more optimistic about his chances of playing than they were about Phillips, but it looks like an extra day might have done the trick for their safety.

All of the inactives for Monday night will be along shortly, although now we know two guys who won’t be on the list.
