This opinion is prevalent in Atlanta’s black community, and other black communities too.

He was/is their hope. No matter what he did or will do, they’ll stand behind him because he’s from the same side of the tracks as they are.

It’s a sad story, these people should aim much higher than someone like Mike Vick.

You even think Vick could light a candle to any of those guys? Not a chance!

Why exactly is he on that list?
Certainly not for his on-field achievements, which didn’t come close to matching the other three.
I’m not surprised in the least it ended the way it did for him in Philly. Truth is, he was an average, occasionally above average, QB. That’s it.

They rewarded his play with a ridiculous contract extension. They stuck with him, turnover after turnover and concussion after concussion. Vick should feel nothing but gratitude for how the Eagles have treated him.
I really wish none of the 31 other teams would sign this sorry excuse for a human being. But, some QB desperate franchise will give Vick a shot.

Getting older and without his speed, he has no other talent to rely on.
