Dan Snyder expresses his hatred for the Giants

Redskins Saints Football AP

The Washington Redskins 17-16 win over the New York Giants on Monday night was a big victory for a team trying to claw back  into the playoff race. The fact it was a win over a division rival, the third straight win over an NFC East foe, made it all the sweeter.

Yet, it seemed to mean a little bit more to Redskins’ owner Dan Synder.

Snyder was excited after the game and congratulating everyone in the Redskins locker room according to Robert Klemko of the USA Today. It was what he told a team staffer that stood out.

“I hate those motherf——,” Snyder said of the Giants.

After losing 10 of 11 games to New York from 2006-2010 and watching their division rival win two Super Bowls in the last five years, it’s understandable Snyder would feel some animosity toward the Giants. Now that the Redskins have won three of the last four games from New York, the feeling may be becoming mutual (if it wasn’t already).

And as a couple commenters have pointed out, Giants’ owner John Mara’s involvement with assessing a $36 million salary cap penalty to the Redskins could have a little something to do with it as well.

He has no one to blame but himself for his team being laughable for 10 out of the past 13 years. And questionable officiating (when did Cordle hold on that Wilson return? Because I saw none) is the main reason they even won tonight.

  2. jivelikenice says: Dec 4, 2012 1:13 AM

Has nothing to do with the Giants success; it has to do with Mara’s role in the cap penalty against the Skins….

  3. riggo44 says: Dec 4, 2012 1:13 AM

He should hate them because Mara was the front runner on penalizing the Redskins with a big cap hit. I mean, imagine if the skins had that 36 million to add another WR, or better yet anyone good on D

  4. bmckay3 says: Dec 4, 2012 1:15 AM

It’s possible his feelings may have something to do with the cap penalties.

  5. commonsensedude says: Dec 4, 2012 1:17 AM

It’s also understandable since Giants President John Mara oversaw the NFL committee that fined the Redskins $36 million dollars in cap space and the Cowboys $10 million for breaking “unwritten rules” about the uncapped year. The conflict of interest that comes from having an owner take an unprecedented financial cheap shot at two of his division rivals can probably cause some hard feelings.

  28. paredskinwarrior1985 says: Dec 4, 2012 3:56 AM

the redskins and cowboys broke no rules as their was no cap and even the nfl said no written rules were broke. mara pushed the cap penalties bc he was afraid of the skins and cowboys!!! this was an unjust penalty! mara is a cheating scumbag!!!
the redskins and cowboys along with the nflpa should sue mara and the nfl for conclusion!
also could possibly even sue for defamation bc of the penalties have ppl calling the redskins and cowboys cheaters and what not!!!!!

this is straight bs and pft and the.media should be making a bigger deal about this!
its bs, its the giants and mara cheating, its not right and could actually give the eagles and giants a big advantage if the RG3 gets hurt.

this is john mara and the giants cheating!!!

what goes around comes around karma will make mara and the giants pay for cheating against division rivals!!!!

    mara is scum!!!

please Snyder and Jones sue the hell out of mara and the nfl!!!
maybe even get some draft picks out of it!!!!

  32. boyshole25 says: Dec 4, 2012 5:46 AM

Snyder was overheard saying he hates mr wright 212 also for his incessant whining and homerism

  33. cooklynn17 says: Dec 4, 2012 6:13 AM

Oh poor skins, upset over the cap penalty, get over it loser, you and Jerrah thought you were the two smartest people in the room and found out otherwise.

And you do know that most all but one team voted on these penalties.

I honestly think it has something to do with Danny boys short-man syndrom. Now continue to look up to John Mara and the Giants like a good boy.

  34. lightningbuggs says: Dec 4, 2012 6:18 AM

Absolutely it’s because of what Mara did with those ridiculous cap penalties. For the first time in almost forever, I agree with Snyder.

Snyder is a wonderful human being.

  42. cjpck44 says: Dec 4, 2012 7:34 AM

Nothing to do with championship. Mara led the way in cap penalty, and wanted to take draft picks so that Redskins could not trade for RG3. Mara did this without all the members of competition committee present to vote. And now that the Redskins have run for 400 yards against them in 2 games, Mara is now in the lead to eliminate the blocking scheme the Redskins use…

  43. cjpck44 says: Dec 4, 2012 7:36 AM

Lets Remember, Eli also worked it so that the Giants could trade for him by refusing to play for the team that drafted him. Wonder if Mara had a deal behind the scene there too…

  44. cjpck44 says: Dec 4, 2012 7:39 AM

There’s a lot if Cowboy and Redskins fans (I’m one if them) that have banded together against the Giants owner due to his apparent manipulation of league rules to benefit his team and hurt other teams in his division. Mara has reversed decades of hate between those teams and placed himself squarely as Enemy #1.

  45. cjpck44 says: Dec 4, 2012 7:46 AM

I wish Dan would stroll on down to the NFLPA in his best suit and ask them if they need someone to testify in the Collusion suit. Lucky for Mara that Snyder and Jones are putting welfare of the league above their teams, and they are taking this collision charge politely even after being two of the top teams that contribute the most money to the NFL pool, the pool that gets split up and sent to other teams that make much less money.

  46. chalkruz1989 says: Dec 4, 2012 7:47 AM

Who cares what Daniel Snyder has to say. He hasn’t put a winning team on the field in five plus years. He’s a mini-Jerry Jones, all they do is throw their money around and hope for luck. Come back to me when your team is actually in the postseason.

  47. ccjcsr says: Dec 4, 2012 7:47 AM

Tell us how you really feel Synder…don’t hold back

  48. wvugrad00 says: Dec 4, 2012 7:54 AM

I wonder if he hates the Giants more than the Redskin fans who hate him as an owner.

  49. tres79 says: Dec 4, 2012 8:09 AM

I think a lot more Redskins fans hate Dan Snyder than the Giants.

  50. tundey says: Dec 4, 2012 8:14 AM

Snyder better watch out. First he’s keeping his hands off the team and now he’s demonstrating hatred towards division rivals? If he stops hanging out with Jerry Jones, why…he just might lose his reputation as the worst owner in the league.

  51. cmankinva says: Dec 4, 2012 8:23 AM

Well I for one like the ole Danny Boy has some fight in him now. That he kept his word and has been hands off and has let Shannahan run the operations. I love that he wants some payback from Mara and that if we clip the cowboys again and run the table in the division all but the first giants loss that should have been 1 on the win column. That mara can stick that in his hat and spin on it.

  52. getyourownname says: Dec 4, 2012 8:32 AM

Then again, it’s possible his attitude may reflect his own feelings of inadequacy, as in most things.

  53. jgava19 says: Dec 4, 2012 8:32 AM

Dan Snyder just providing more evidence as to why he’s the most disliked and juvenile owner in all of football. Apparently he hates winners. Good luck, Dan, with the cap penalty next year and no first round picks the next two seasons.

  54. nothesamesincemarinoretired says: Dec 4, 2012 8:37 AM

If Dan Snyder knew what the word “motherf–,” means, or the origin of the word, he would never use it again.

  55. djstat says: Dec 4, 2012 8:41 AM

Snyder is a scumbag. Skins fans hate him. Snyder is a disgrace who has treated employees like garbage.

  56. mangoldbond says: Dec 4, 2012 8:58 AM

Yea its those cap penalties as well. And the giant’s whining in general…

  57. bigbluenationdb says: Dec 4, 2012 9:03 AM

I would hate a team in my division that continues to win super bowls and I cant even make the playoffs.

The whole thing with the salary cap is his own fault just like Jerry Jones in Dallas. All 32 teams knew the rules but owners elected to ignore the rule. The rules were voted on and put in place by the owners/NFL. It is his own fault for the sitiuation he is in.

  58. cheddarrob says: Dec 4, 2012 9:14 AM

Lets just discuss “fair competition” for a moment shall we. The Giants have a guy named Victor Cruz who has made it well known that he celebrates by doing the salsa, sometimes even accompanied by music with the television station. Although other teams in the league are penalized for any type of celebration yet Cruz gets a pass EVERY time. During the game last night I watched a Giants D Lineman stomp on a Redskins OLineman and there were offsetting flags even though when Suh does it he gets tossed and a weeks discussion. About how dirty of a player he is ends up on Sports Center for weeks. And the. On top of that the only two teams majority penalized by the Competition Committee headed by Mara are in the same division as his Giants and just happen to be the two highest grossing teams in the NFL. And seas fans are supposed to believe there is no underlying cause here?

  59. richwizl says: Dec 4, 2012 9:16 AM

  61. theroc5156 says: Dec 4, 2012 9:50 AM

Hey Dan, that $36M cap hit saved you from wasting it on some overpriced free-agenst. You know, the ones you continually bought and yet won nothing with over the years.

  66. thesageofthestreet says: Dec 4, 2012 10:59 AM

Notice he didn’t say it before the game!!!!!

Snyder is a detestable human being everyone who works for him hates him so he knows all about hate.

I would hate the Giants too if I was him, they have been kicking his teams ass for 12 years!!!!!

Not to mention thye caught him cheating.

Here is the good news Giants, eagles, & Cowboys fans, even though the Skins have RG3 Snyder will find a way to screw it up. he always does!!!!

  67. rg3isvictory says: Dec 4, 2012 10:59 AM

I hated the Cowboys for years but reserve that for Mara and the giants now. I want to thank Mara for helping the Skins fans rally around our owner. Snyder has done a great job since bringing in Shanahan and the Skins have made great strides fixing 15 plus years of mistakes. If it was not for Mara’s dirty dealings within the division, we may not have seen Snyder bleed Burgundy and Gold in public. Snyder has learned to allow nflers to take care of the operations while he leaves them with a fat open check book. He’ll do anything for the team and is as big a fan as anybody else. Skins fans eyes have been open and the Snyder/ Skins era is rapidly changing toward tremendous success.

Again, thank you & f*ck U very much Mara,

Froms Redskins fans, including Daniel Snyder!!!

  69. justintuckrule says: Dec 4, 2012 11:25 AM

Mara did Snyder a favor by stripping him of cap space. Lord knows he would have frivolously spent it on overpaid primadonnas that would have put a stop to their little feel good locker room before it ever got started. Instead of hating on Mara, he should have sent him a gift basket.

By the way, nice win Skins’ fans. Much congrats. You ran the ball right down our throats 80’s old school style. Hopefully you gave us the same wakeup call you gave us last year.

  70. kenstabler says: Dec 4, 2012 11:29 AM

I agree with the Snyder for once. Mara has no right to be on a committee when he has an interest in an opposing team. This is a conflict of interest, and is damaging to the game. The NFL needs to get NEUTRAL committee members to make these types of decisions. All credibility is lost with the NFL if it can’t produce a committee that is non biased.

  71. iam4skins says: Dec 4, 2012 11:58 AM

WHAT IS BEING MISSED IN THIS BANTER~ Is that all of the contracts were approved by the league and players association… How can you approve them and then penalize us for them? Hmmm Sounds like a witch hunt on two unlike owners.

  72. chalkruz1989 says: Dec 4, 2012 12:54 PM

Redskins fans: The Redskins are 6-6, not 9-3, stop bragging and acting like they are about to cruise to a Super Bowl berth.

They won a hard-fought game and congrats to them, they deserved it. But, lets not forget that you are by no means at the top of the NFC East.

I guess I can excuse you because it’s been a long time since the ‘Skins were playing important games past November but lets calm down before touting Washington the next champions.

Snyder cheated? How? Last I checked a Salary Cap was how much you could spend on player salaries in one year. The year in question was Uncapped meaning there was no Salary Cap. If anyone cheated it was Mara.

Also the fact that you tried to rub your “successful business” in our face makes me think you’re still in high school, or that your dad built the business and you took it over.

You watched what? You need your eyes checked. Joseph was pulling up and that holding machine kicked him. Joseph kicked back. Way to ignore what the Redskins player instigated.

Cruz doesn’t dance with anyone else, making the celebration legal, according to the rules.

Find something legitimate if you’re going to cry foul.

  78. iam4skins says: Dec 4, 2012 4:37 PM

I truly believe Snyder has evolved. He hired a GM (which he didnt have the first 10 years)… stepped back and let him and the coach run the team. Since then, very positive things have happened. NO ONE was going to win with sexy rexy as their qb . Especially with the Oline decimated. Jerry Jones on the other hand hasnt evolved. His delusional ego is bigger than ever.
