APLions defensive tackle Nick Fairley had misdemeanor marijuana charges dropped Tuesday, stemming from an April arrest in Alabama.
According to Justin Rogers of MLive.com, prosecutors dismissed the marijuana charges, Fairley’s first of the offseason. DUI and reckless driving charges from a separate incident led to a six-month suspended sentence, a year of probation and a fine, though his attorney entered him in a pre-trial diversion program which could reduce the sentence.
During the marijuana arrest, police found marijuana cigarettes in Fairley’s car when he was stopped for speeding through a subdivision. A friend claimed responsibility for the drugs, making it a rare win for the “it’s not my weed” defense.
While Fairley could still be punished by the league, his first-time offender status will help him.

That friend? Jerome Simpson.
maybe they were Bobby Griffen’s?
Lions fans must really miss Barry Sanders. And not just for his on the field exploits.
Also, for those that don;t read the links:
Fairley passed a drug test shortly after the arrest and the prosecution felt they would be unable to prove the marijuana belonged to him.

It doesn’t matter. People will use any excuse to fuel their Lions hatred.

They’re 4-8. Undisciplined off the field, same story on the field.

Does anybody really care about the Lions enough to hate them? Except their own fans?

That’s a good point. I’ve never seen people pile on a 4-8 team like this. Let us hate our own team in peace.
For a team that has routinely stunk for over 50 years, the Lions sure do have a lot of haters.

Yeah, no one have ever cheated a drug screen when they knew it was time to be tested. Never ever. LOL!
