There are still some mind numbing losses mixed in this run … That 07-08 season Super Bowl was the worst… Brady going down in 08 in the first game…Loosing the 2006 AFC Championship to the Colts (38-34)… Loosing to the Jets at Foxboro (I was there) in the 2011 Division round… and last years super bowl…

For me it would be crushing to not get that 4th title for Brady and BB … but it is like some wierd cruel Karma has taken hold of this team.

Did you notice that offensive and defensive coordinators would cover their mouths when calling in plays? Anyone wonder why they did that (they still do today – but of course only the Patriots steal signals – not other teams!)

Oh, and there was no rule against sideline taping in Montana’s era – that only went into effect in 2006.

And as all Patriots haters know, the fact that the Patriots broke a 2006 rule in 2007 negates their Super Bowl victories in 2001, 2003 & 2004. (yes – I know that makes no logical sense, but thats the typical conspiracy theory you hear around here.)

The spygate stuff was just fodder for ESPN ratings and the haters who were dying for an excuse as to why the Patriots beat their team all the time.

Their NFL best .700+ winning %, 2 AFC Championships, and 2 Super Bowl appearances post-spygate with a completely different team (and much worse defense) is all you need to know. 1 more ring for Brady and Belichick and the debate is probably over…greatest of all time.

Me too. The 49ers are another team that likes to play fast and loose with the rules.

That said, my perception, not surprisingly, of the Patriots over the last eleven years or so is that they have been truly an elite team. However, I think that without Tom Brady they would have been just an above average team. Belichick is given too much credit. His defenses have fallen way below average. His drafting and personnel decisions are suspect. It’s the much feared and respected Tom Brady who makes up for it. Game after game. Year after year.

If it was such a horrible act and they got this huge advantage out of it, then why does one of the videos that was released show Herm Edwards (the coach of the Jets at the time) smiling and waving at the camera?
Why did they do it in the open on the sideline for everyone to see?

actually it is hard to do what the pats have done in the afc east. i love that argument though. i suppose it couldnt possibly have anything to do with brady and belichick. every division has a weak link every year, sometimes two. but to be consistent like the pats have been the last 12 years is not easy to do. even in that precious nfc east most speak of….which is horrendous this year btw. the giants are the only legit team in that division, regardless of what happened last night

After I read this book and the FACTS that are documented, I have to say that the practices Belichick took to gain an advantage are still ongoing. How the NFL botched/botches this is unreal. (burned the tapes Belichick had made for over 5+ years at the foxboro facility before owners even review them??)

If Tom Brady knows the defensive play before the snap (this is where e adams comes in) then he is obviously at a supreme advantage.

Just read the book and get an education on how cheaters cheat.

Adams backround speaks for itself. The stories that are in the book are backed by facts and if they werent why are the people involved suing for slander.

They’ve also done it in the age of instant gratification, where if a coach or player isn’t immediately successful they are cut/replaced.

But Landry did it with a lot of innovation: motion, multiple sets, shotgun, the flex defense, and inventing the linebacker position. A lot of things that the league takes for granted now.
