Carlos Dunlap wins AFC defensive player of the week

Forcing turnovers against the Chargers is no longer novel, but the rate at which Carlos Dunlap did it was still impressive.

The Bengals defensive end was named AFC defensive player of the week, with a pair of sack-forced fumbles and four pressures in the Bengals’ 20-13 road win.

Dunlap now gives the Bengals bookend player-of-week ends, as Michael Johnson won earlier this year. Dunlap has forced three fumbles and recovered three go with his 4.0 sacks and 17 pressures.

The Bengals have quietly put together one of the best defensive lines in the NFL.

I think it is great that he got it, but what Von Miller did on Sunday should have warranted more. Another sack and his first INT as a pro that went for a score. Either way, congrats to Dunlap. He is a great player that will only get better.

With Dunlap, Atkins, Peko and Johnson, not to mention the guys they rotate in and out to keep everyone fresh, the Bengals absolutely have one of the Top 5 D-lines in the league. QB’s don’t want to see these guys on the other side. They’re hard to stop!

A 2nd, 4th, 4th, and 3rd round picks respectively. The star players are not always found in the first round. Not to mention Geathers (4th), Sims (3rd), Devon Still(2nd), Brandon Thompson (3rd).
