Ryan Grant is with the same club that the Jets are with. The Overrated club.
Starks is better. Sad to see him possibly gone.
Are the Packers really that desperate to bring back Grant?
I hope he proves me wrong and is better than I think.
On the other hand, Grant homers just may like him better than Starks just because, well, they are homers.

The reason Grant took so long to hook on is the same as Plax. He isn't going to play Special Teams.

So when you have Benson/Green or Starks/Green, whoever is #3 is going to have to play ST in addition to being a backup.

Now that it's Green only, a spot for a dedicated running back has opened up...and thus Grant is there to fill it.

I can see where the Packers bring him back in the sense that he knows the system and they are looking to make a late season push for the play-offs. I don't think he is the answer personally but they need someone back there that can get in and play quickly. They don't have the time left in the season to train a new back to their system. I think Ryan and Grant rotating will be successful but the Pack need to look at RB's in the upcoming draft along with the OL.

I've been a bit of an RG apologist around here, and was hoping they'd bring him on 4-5 weeks ago when the ground game was looking so bad. The combo of Starks and Green have been working well the past couple weeks, so it's a big blow to lose Starks now.

That said, dig RG's stats from the last 4 games of last year: 42 carries for 243 yards (5.8 ypc) and 2 TD's, and added 7 grabs for 162 and another TD. He took a screen pass 80 yards to the house in week 16. He's had a lot of time to rest and get healthy, so if he's stayed in football shape he could be a boost.
