Ryan Grant is with the same club that the Jets are with. The Overrated club.
Starks is better. Sad to see him possibly gone.
Are the Packers really that desperate to bring back Grant?
I hope he proves me wrong and is better than I think.
On the other hand, Grant homers just may like him better than Starks just because, well, they are homers.

The reason Grant took so long to hook on is the same as Plax. He isn’t going to play Special Teams.

So when you have Benson/Green or Starks/Green, whoever is #3 is going to have to play ST in addition to being a backup.

Now that it’s Green only, a spot for a dedicated running back has opened up…and thus Grant is there to fill it.

We’ll need a good running game or at least a half way decent running game on our way to the Super Bowl. IMO the following people will be let go after the season is over. Starks/Finley/Jennings,if he wants too much money as Packers will need to resign Rodgers/Matthews & Raji.

I can see where the Packers bring him back in the sense that he knows the system and they are looking to make a late season push for the play-offs. I don’t think he is the answer personally but they need someone back there that can get in and play quickly. They don’t have the time left in the season to train a new back to their system. I think Ryan and Grant rotating will be successful but the Pack need to look at RB’s in the upcoming draft along with the OL.

He weighs 225 but plays like a 180lb RB. If he can play with the power he did before the ankle injury it’s a great signing. Hope he can break an arm tackle and play the way he used to.

Grant knows the Packers offense like the back of his hand – in pass protection alone it will pay off. This is the best move the Packers could make at this juncture.

I’ve been a bit of an RG apologist around here, and was hoping they’d bring him on 4-5 weeks ago when the ground game was looking so bad. The combo of Starks and Green have been working well the past couple weeks, so it’s a big blow to lose Starks now.

That said, dig RG’s stats from the last 4 games of last year: 42 carries for 243 yards (5.8 ypc) and 2 TD’s, and added 7 grabs for 162 and another TD. He took a screen pass 80 yards to the house in week 16. He’s had a lot of time to rest and get healthy, so if he’s stayed in football shape he could be a boost.

wie really shows how bad the packs run game is when THIS is there go to guy…I love the packers favorite team in football but this is not there answer to the running game…I remember last year he had one good run..one good RUN not even a fool game…he is not the guy to go too

No idea what he has left in the tank, or his conditioning at the moment, but at least he knows the offense up and down. Ugh….Not a shocker to see Starks hurt again though.

I always liked Ryan Grant. I don’t watch a ton of Packers games or anything, but when I’d see him play I liked his running style. I hope he tears it up.
