Suisham gets the AFC special-teams sheet of paper

Last month, Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor told Erik Kuselias of Pro Football Talk that the weekly award winners in the NFL get a sheet of paper.

This week, one of Taylor’s teammates will get that sheet of paper declaring him to be the AFC special-teams player of the week for Week 13 of the 2012 NFL season.

Veteran kicker Shaun Suisham has won the weekly award for the third time in his career.  He secured the honor after a Week Five win over the Eagles, and he previously won it in November 2007, when he was named the NFC’s special-teams player of the week with the Redskins.  On Sunday, Suisham made three field goals in an unlikely road win over the Ravens, including a game-winning 42-yarder to that secured the victory.

For the year, Suisham has made 24 of 25 field goals, including his last 13.

    Literally the worst kicker ever. Title might as well say “Hell has frozen over.”

    I’ll admit I wasn’t sold on Suisham last year, but this guy has been money this year.

    He’s a different guy. Clearly steroids and Hgh onboard. I used to be scared to death when he takes the field. Sunday in baltimore you had little doubt when he walked on for last kick.

    I wasn’t in favor of them cutting Reed over him a few years back, but right now I am good with it.

    Yes, clearly Shaun Suisham is roided up. Because if there is one thing that steroids and HGH help, it’s FG accuracy.

    Congrats to Suisham!! I wasn’t sure about him at first, but he’s done well for the team. Great job on Sunday!

    I thought the same thing about Cundiff, but after checking his stats discovered his numbers were down significantly all year from 2010. So that missed FG against the Pats was more like the last straw.

    Oh that’s right because he has 3 field goals include a game winner when the Ravens lost…to the steelers…with Charlie Batch at qb
