APThe Bengals are kicking the tires on three kickers today, with Mike Nugent unable to go in practice because of an injury.
According to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, they’ll audition Josh Brown, Neil Rackers and Billy Cundiff for cover.
Nugent didn’t practice Wednesday because of a calf strain, and left the field early during the morning walk-through.
The Bengals have won four straight and are firmly in the AFC playoff chase, tied with the Steelers for the final playoff berth if the season ended today.
Which it doesn’t, which is why the Bengals are trying out kickers.

They’re not tied. Steelers hold the tie breaker.
As a Bills fan really hoping the Bengals tank it at the end of the year, I say sign Cundiff!!!!
Marvin Lewis has lost all faith in Nugent anyway. Didn’t we go for it on 4th and 9 when the field goal would have been 52 yards to seal the game last week? He has been missing a lot lately.
The tie breaker don’t mean a thing until the end of the season. Silly steeler fans you should be worried. As far as the bills fans, misery does love company that’s why you should go to Cleveland.
the phrase “which it doesn’t” seems out of place in this story. what’s it referring too?
“As a Bills fan really hoping the Bengals tank it at the end of the year, I say sign Cundiff!!!!”
As a bills fan? Your team is irrelevant now. Why hate the bengals?
nugent has missed 4 fg’s this year. 3 of them were 40-49 yds and the other was a 50+ . so on the year he is 19 of 23.
