APWith the Bengals officially adding kicker Josh Brown due to Mike Nugent’s calf injury, Cincinnati had to open up a roster spot.
They did so by bidding farewell to Jeff Faine.
Faine, who was once one of the highest-paid centers in the league, started seven game this year for the Bengals. But the rise of Trevor Robinson coupled with the return from injury of Kyle Cook made Faine unnecessary.
If Robinson or Cook get injured, look for Faine to return. Unless someone else gets to him first.

Darn kickers ruin everything!
Not mentioned above is that Trevor Robinson is a rookie/undrafted free agent who stepped in and has outplayed Faine.
I thought I was gonna read that he missed a block on a FG, causing Nugent to get injured and therefore costing him his job.
Bills should pick him up
Welcome to Dallas.
One Irish center replaced by another Irish center. Faine should find a home w/ some team.
Hello Green Bay
I dont understand how Dallas hasn’t snagged him already. Not only does Dallas play Cincy, but Dallas actually needs a veteran C, as opposed to the turnstiles they have been employing all season.
As a Cowboys fan I hope Dallas sings him, we need a center bad. Actually we need an entire o-line bad, except for Tyron Smith, he’s good.
Giants, PLEASE! He has some mileage on him & he’s not the same player he was coming out of Notre Dame, but he would be an immediate upgrade over David Baas & sure up their O-Line that has been leaking up the middle lately.
