Perhaps Mike’s having trouble focusing in the new offense because he missed the entire off-season’s training in the new offense. The Steelers were a run-heavy team during the 70s, but it didn’t seem to affect Swan and Stallworth’s focus when it came time to catch the ball.

Not only does he not catch balls, he doesn’t fight the DB’s for the ball when it’s up in the air like AB. This guy’s sounding more and more like TO. I think Hines was a valuable mentor to this guy, but now that he’s gone we see what happens.

Mike, hope a 3 year, $8 million contract looks good next year. With Manny stepping up and Heath getting more looks, you could end up with the 4th most receptions/yards/td on the team. If Al Davis (RIP) were still around, im sure he would give you 3/$30mil

Having trouble focusing tells me the organization can’t afford to depend on him. Bad excuse man. He never mentioned the “focus” problem when he asked for Fitz money. Oh and during the Cincy game Ben was targeting Wallace more than anyone else and he was still dropping passes. I don’t buy it.

Wallace has been targeted a team high 93 times. Heath and AB are tied for 2nd with 76 targets each. There’s no one to blame but Wallace and his inability to thrive in our new drink and drunk offense. The guy is still having a decent year with 6 tds, and he can get close to 1,000 yds in the next 4 games with Ben back. Time to suck it up diva! Slap him with the franchise tag for a year and say goodbye in 2014.

Or maybe your production is down because the only thing you do better than the Steelers other wideouts is stretch the field. And your QB’s for the last 3 weeks don’t excel at the long ball.

“I don’t get the ball enough” is a cop out. I’m a Steeler fan but he seems like a T.O. in the making. He’s definitely valuable (see: Heath Miller’s 40yd catch and run vs the Ravens), but once he loses his speed, his value greatly diminishes.

Please allow me to translate. The teams failure to show me the money has greatly impacted my desire to focus . Thank god the steelers did not cave in on his hold out. If he is losing focus now in the middle of his contract year just imagine how he would focus if they gave him 50+ million.
