I hate to say it but I think his receivers made him look like a better QB than he probably really is.

--------------------------------------------

Lol 14+ different no-name receivers in 2010, Jackson out until the 13th game, Gates toe issues and you're saying his receivers made him? It was the other way around. Take away his o-line with some of those same receivers that are left and you have nothing.

You can't throw to Jackson if you don't have the time.

Bring Marty back. At least he will get the chargers back to the playoffs before Rivers chokes it away.

Simpletons will point to the O-line and while that's an issue too, he got away with throwing balls up for grabs when he had Jackson.

Also, that shot put release he has seems to be slowing down.

doomsdayZen: The facts completely refute that. The year VJ sat out, Rivers had a career year. All the more impressive, considering Gates wasn't a factor, either. Rivers has always done well with multiple targets, even scrubs off the street.

So, no, his numbers have not been padded by receivers, and certainly not any more than the other top-tier QB's.

IT"S ALL ON THE O-LINE. Or, lack thereof. It's hard for a QB to throw good passes, when he's sitting on his arse...

I like Rivers but losing Vincent Jackson was huge. He nearly always drew double coverage which left others open plus he could go up and get the ball in impossible situations.

Give Rivers a half decent OL and his numbers will go up again. His problem is he lacks mobility, so needs a decent OL to help him regain his confidence. He has been hit a lot the last 2 years and it shows when he rushes a lot of passes.
