Chris Ivory injures hamstring, expected to miss game vs. Giants

The Giants have caught a break and the Saints have been dealt a blow with an unexpected addition to the injury report for Sunday’s game.

The Saints announced on Saturday that running back Chris Ivory, who hadn’t been mentioned on this week’s injury report, has suffered a hamstring injury and is now considered doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Giants.

After spending the start of the season buried behind Pierre Thomas, Darren Sproles and Mark Ingram on the Saints’ loaded running back depth chart, Ivory has emerged as a significant threat in the Saints’ rushing attack. Ivory has 36 for 195 yards and two touchdowns in the last five games, and his average of 5.4 yards a carry is the best of any of the Saints’ running backs.

Thomas, Sproles and Ingram are all good to go and will divide the carries on Sunday.

    Oh, OK.

I guess that will balance out the Giants defense missing Terrell Thomas, Kenny Phillips, Chase Blackburn, Jaquain Williams and Kieth Rivers, with Michael Boley and Justin Tuck slowed by minor injuries.

Hope their Pass Rush can get busy.

Saints have depth at RB. If we lose Bradshaw to his chronic foot problems we’re looking at Joseph Addai.

Doesn’t matter if the OL can’t protect Brees like they have shown last two weeks. There is no chance.

Cue the Saints fans claiming that this is Goodell’s fault…

    Its a conspiracy…

Saints have RB by committee anyway. Final score Gmen 56 , Saints 52. NFL records for most yards, First downs. etc.

Next person that compares this game to the ones in the dome should be tazed until the clock hits 0:00 tomorrow. Saints are completely different team in real elements, and their offensive line has been putrid of late.

It doesn’t make a difference. This game will go down to the wire, and the team with the last possession will get the opportunity to win it at the end. Saints by a winning field goal.

We need to get a pass rush on Brees. That 49ers pass rush can make any offensive line look putrid. Aldon Smith is much better than our own JPP this year.
