The Giants have caught a break and the Saints have been dealt a blow with an unexpected addition to the injury report for Sunday’s game.

The Saints announced on Saturday that running back Chris Ivory, who hadn’t been mentioned on this week’s injury report, has suffered a hamstring injury and is now considered doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Giants.

After spending the start of the season buried behind Pierre Thomas, Darren Sproles and Mark Ingram on the Saints’ loaded running back depth chart, Ivory has emerged as a significant threat in the Saints’ rushing attack. Ivory has 36 for 195 yards and two touchdowns in the last five games, and his average of 5.4 yards a carry is the best of any of the Saints’ running backs.

Thomas, Sproles and Ingram are all good to go and will divide the carries on Sunday.
