Josh Brent drove drunk. So do dozens of other players every week in the NFL. Most of them don’t get caught, and rarely does something terrible like this happen, but they aren’t any different than Brent. Brent was just unlucky enough that his stupidity resulted in a tragedy.

Before you throw so much anger at Brent, or the Cowboys, or Jerry Jones (somehow), take a look at the police blotter. I’m sure you don’t have to go very far down the list before you find someone on your favorite team arrested for a DUI. Should they get a pass because they didn’t hurt someone this time? I don’t think so.

Sad story. Deserves all the jail time he gets. As a Cowboys fan, I hope the league comes down hard on the franchise. Enough with these losers, you keep putting guys like this on your team and you deserve consequences.

I’m not sure what the league CAN do in a situation like this. I’ll grant you that your owner is a first class dipsh**, but I’m sure even he made it clear to his players and staff that cabs/limos were there for the asking. I loathe Jerry Jones as an owner, as a GM, and probably as a person, but I don’t think he’s much to blame here. At some point, it’s a matter of PERSONAL responsibility.

This is so tragic that even I (a Cowboys loather of well over 40 years’ standing) feel terrible for the Cowboys organization and fans.
