Jerry Brown wrote about fatherhood, a slower life

The imprint we make on social media often allows a window into our thoughts.

And the late Jerry Brown recently wrote on Facebook about the prospect of becoming a father, and wanting to live a slower life.

In a post dated Nov. 29, Brown wrote about a life away from the spotlight.

“Sometimes when I actually get a chance to get away from football I think of how bad I want a family (wife, children) and how the fast life isn’t as fun as it use to be after living it for so long,” he wrote.

He also mentioned “my lil one coming soon,” adding a layer to the avoidable tragedy that unfolded this morning on a Dallas highway.

As a father my heart aches for him. What a sad day. Not only did he lose his life but a child lost the father they will never meet. God bless his family.

This story just made it a little easier for me. Jeez what a shame.

I feel horrible for the families of both men and I believe drinking and driving kills but is it wrong to not also put some blame on a grown man who would get in and ride with an intoxicated driver? He was a grown man and, in pure speculation, I assume he too had been out drinking….. Had the car crashed differently it could be him alive and Brent no longer with us…. This should be a lesson of a no-win situation that our kids can learn from not a victim / criminal situation…? Am I off base?

What people say is different than what people do, especially on Facebook.
