Grief counselors can be a great help to those who need help. The problem is twofold–One, when people need help and won’t admit it and get it; and Two, when (some) of these counselors force themselves on people who really are coping with tragedy in their own way and don’t need outside help.

The league and the organization has to walk a fine line here–making help available while not forcing it on those who had any connection to the deceased.

Well put Florio, I also feel a little bit for Josh Brent that’s a heavy burden to bare. But at the same time he deserves that burden.

That’s what family, friends and ministers are for. I’d tell any grief parasite to go suck eggs. When did American adults get so weak that we need professionals to help us deal with life’s inevitable tragedies? That’s part of being a grown up. I thought football was supposed to build character.
