Vick would be wise to decide on playing for a team with a good chance of getting to the Superbowl. A team with a really good QB that Vick can play behind in the event that the team needs a part time guy to help them get through an injury to their QB. Charlie Batch would be a good offseason mentor for Vick.

Vick will never lead a team anywhere as a starter. His best years are far behind him. Basically, Vick is done as a starter for all intensive purposes. Any team that signs him to play would only be signing him to sell tickets.

The next team to sign Vick will be doomed, just like the Eagles were.

Hopefully no NFL team will sign Vick after the Eagles boot him.

Vick is a 32 year old career .500 QB who can’t complete a season, and won’t read defenses. Ask VY how that worked out for him in Bflo.

My guess is he won’t be able to “pass the physical”.

He’d be perfect for the Jets, though.

First off, the original poster said there “isn’t” a deep crop of quarterbacks coming out in the draft this year. But either way, it’s a very questionable assertion– “Have [either of you] been watching college football at all this year?”

Just because a draft doesn’t have surefire superstars like Luck and Griffin, paired with very pleasant surprises like Tannehill and Wilson, doesn’t mean that it isn’t a solid class. As far as simply depth at the quarterback position goes, 2013 may be one of the deepest talent crops of all time.

While it probably will not produce many/any all-stars, Matt Barkley, Geno Smith, and Tylers Bray and Wilson will all get a start somewhere; guys like Ryan Nassib, Mike Glennon, Aaron Murray, Derek Carr, Tajh Boyd, and Landry Jones could all get their shots as well; and Logan Thomas, Jordan Rodgers, and Colin Klein fall into the Brees/Wilson/Tebow developmental prospect lottery.

Even if we exclude the juniors (Bray, Murray, Carr, Boyd, Thomas), there are still 8 very draftable quarterbacks in 2013, which is a lot.

We may never see a quarterback class like 2012 again in our lifetimes, but that doesn’t mean every subsequent class is garbage. And just because Smith/Barkley won’t be the same as Luck/Griffin doesn’t mean that either or both won’t turn out to be excellent pros and franchise quarterbacks.

To wrap things up, let’s take a glass-half-full look at 2013: sure next year’s rookies won’t be as good as this year’s; but hey, they’ll be a heck of a lot better than 2007′s.

Although Vick, juxtapose to Fitzpatrick, has a slightly higher, but similar rate of fumbling he is two years older, never played a full season except once, and has not completed over 60% of his passes since 2010. Also, did Fitzpatrick lose his job to a back up???

If Fitz was so bad why did the Bills not give his job to Tarvaris Jackson, Brad Smith, or Tyler Thigpen??

Given the “hype”, draft choices sacrificed, second chances and money thrown at him he should be considered the #1 bust in the history of the NFL. Yes, I think he is a bigger bust than Leaf, Russell and Mandarich. Say what you will but Reeves, Mora and Reid all fell for the “hype”, and suffered for it. They deserved better.”

Don’t confuse your disdain for him as intelligent football discourse.

To compare Vick to Leaf or Russell is asinine.

Neither have led their teams to the playoffs 4 times.

Neither has made 4 Pro Bowls.

Neither has led their team to an NFC Championship game.

Neither has been named the NFL Comeback Player of the year.

Neither has had a QB passer rating of 100.2 like Vick did in 2010. Not to mention his 676 rushing yards and 9 rushing Td’s that same year.

Neither has rushed for 1000 yards in a single season like Vick did.

Neither have broken Brett Favre’s home playoff win streak the way Vick did.

Neither has thrown for 333 yards and 4 tds while rushing for 80 yards and two more scores as he led his offense to score 59 points as Vick did in a single game.

I’m sure there are plenty of legit reasons that you don’t care for him as a person or QB, but to label him a bust is ridiculous. You are welcome to your opinion, but in my humble opinion the facts don’t bear it out.
