Chargers-Steelers a defensive showcase, sort of

The Chargers are up 3-0 after a quarter in Pittsburgh, a quarter which featured not quite 100 yards of combined offense by teams with plenty of issues.

The Chargers deactivated three starting offensive linemen, and against the league’s top defense, it shows.

The Steelers aren’t moving it any better. Ben Roethlisberger’s 4-of-7 for 37 yards in his return from rib and shoulder injuries, and they’re not helping him by running much. He’s taking a few shots, as the Chargers seem intent on popping him at every opportunity.
