Rob Ryan hurts Cowboys’ defense with unsportsmanlike conduct

Rob Ryan AP

Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is known for running his mouth. The officials on the field in Cincinnati today decided that they heard enough.

Ryan walked out onto the field to yell at the officials about what he thought should have been a flag on Bengals offensive tackle Andre Smith for holding Cowboys defensive lineman Sean Lissemore, but instead of throwing a flag on Cincinnati, the officials flagged Ryan for unsportsmanlike conduct.

It’s not clear what Ryan said, but the officials’ reaction makes one wonder whether an F-bomb was involved.

On the same drive, the Cowboys lost rookie cornerback Morris Claiborne to what appeared to be a head injury when Claiborne got sandwiched while making a tackle. The medical personnel brought a stretcher out, and players appeared to be very concerned, but Claiborne did manage to get up and walk off the field.

Now the Cowboys need Ryan to remember to stay off the field.

What a fat loser. Both Ryans could be unemployed by seasons end.

Rob Ryan has hurt the Cowboys defense since he got there with his typically bombastic Ryanesque behavior and no results to back it up.

Whenever you have to yell at the officials while playing Cincinnati, your D probably sucks anyway.

But he’s a defensive genius, right? People who think he should or will get Garret’s job are misguided I think.

The cowboys could lose every game they play for the next dozen years and I would be happy.

The man has NO discipline, physically, emotionally or behaviorally, and he wants an organization to hire him as HC? This is laughable!

This is why the Cowboys are not a threat to the Giants. The Redskins are.

Redskins fans are so cute, trying to keep their sad team relevant for the first time since Snyder bought the team.

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but first, it wasn’t Andre Smith that should have been called for the holding. It was the RG, who while getting instantly beat off the ball, with hand inside the neck of the defender’s jersey, pulls him down to the ground. Rob Ryan becomes irate, for good reason. Andre Smith then walks over near the sidelines and starts jawing at Ryan, to which Ryan replies “F you”. Boom. flag gets thrown. The entire thing was on camera. I’m surprised (or not surprised) that so many details in this article are wrong.
