Vick is fine, official status for Thursday not known

Vick AP

The Eagles play two games in the next five days.  On Sunday, they’re in Tampa.  On Thursday night, they’ll host the Bengals — possibly still on a losing streak so long that the Phillies have won more recently.

For the home game against Cincinnati, the Eagles will have quarterback Mike Vick available.  If they want him.

A source with knowledge of the situation says that Vick is ready to play.  It’s not known, however, whether the team or the independent neurologist will give him the appropriate clearances to dress.

Vick’s status has been the subject of considerable suspicion, with multiple reports and rumors pointing to the possibility that the Eagles have used Vick’s concussion as a tool for benching him without really benching him.

    It is a productivity/financial decision,for the Eagles,and Vick has not produced,period.

Makes sense to leave him as a backup. See what Foles has and if needed, Vick is there to step in.

As far as the losing streak goes, all those “careful what you wish for” people that think firing Reid is nuts, well pay attention. His run ended in 2004. One winning playoff appearance since 2004. One. Let that sink in for all the Reid lovers. ONE.That ship sailed years ago and now we’re left with his wreckage.

With just 4 games left, I would shut him down for the season even if he is cleared to play. Eagles aren’t going anywhere so there is no reason to risk even more injury to Vick. He has taken a terrific beating every game. Give him the more time to recover. He probably will be dropped in the off season from the Eagles but I’m sure some team will pick him up. However, with his history of concussions he is high risk.

I thought they already determined he was out for the year?

Mike Vick is all done. The sooner the Eagles (and the rest of the NFL) move on from him the better.

Didn’t Andy already say Foles is the starter for the rest of the year? Then again, Andy doesn’t exactly have a reputation for sticking to his word.

Season’s in the tank. Go with Foles and see what you got.

let the kid (foles) get the playing time. vick is not the eagles qb for 2013.

Andy already announced Foles the starter for the remainder.

Sad to see a player have one bad year and pushed aside like this. I’m not convinced Flores is quite the guy.

I guess the people posting on here forgot that Vick had no O-line this year and was asked to pass 35 to 45 times a game , no dink and dump like they are doing Foles. Now they run the ball 30 to 40 times a game. With all that being said how many games has Foles one?

He is still a damn good coach but his time in Philly is probably over due..I think he could be quite successful in another town…

Ive heard some rumblings with Gruden and Philly.. I know Gruden won title but i thought he was a bit over rated myself..

Given the current state of the Eagles offensive line, Foles is destined to get injured, so Vick’s likely to see playing time again this year.

And if he does get in, he’d probably do pretty well because he’d be auditioning for his next team.

Clean him up, put a bow on him and tell EVERYONE, especially the Bills, that he fine to go.

I’ve seen all of foles that I want, he is terrible and is not the answer Vick was never the issue the oline was the problem. Some of you just have hate for Vick cause he always gave it his all on the field. You all begged for foles and how many games have he won
