APAnother college underclassman has opted to throw his hat in the ring for the NFL Draft.
And it’s a big hat.
Ohio State defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins announced he’ll give up his senior season to go pro, according to the Associated Press.
The All-Big Ten choice has started the last two seasons for the Buckeyes, finishing in the top five in tackles both seasons.
The 6-foot-3, 322-pounder had 138 tackles, 16.5 for a loss and 5.0 sacks in three years.

Big Hank will be missed!! Go Buckeyes!!!!!!!!!!!
Big loss for the Buckeyes. Hankins will be a really solid pro.
NT in a 3-4 Defense
Mr. Hankins, welcome to the Denver Broncos. You will fit PERFECTLY at three technique. Von and DOOM will make the QB step forward right into your waiting hands.
What really impressed with with Hankins was his versatility. I’ve seen him play DT and DE in 4-3 defenses, and I’ve seen him play NT and DE in 3-4 defenses. He has that Haloti Ngata ability to play anywhere on the DLine in any scheme and be successful. Should be a nice NFL player. Top 10-15 pick.
How good is he? Is he better than Star Lotulelei from Utah or Jesse Williams from Alabama? Maybe he is somewhere in between.
Could be a top five pick in the draft. Jacksonville and Carolina could use him.

How do you expect to draft him seeing that you have already clinched a playoff spot and this guy is gonna go in the Top 10?
He is much better against the run than he’s given credit for.Hankins will go 7-12 in the first round as long as he does well at the combine.
He is a beast!! Top 5 pick. Reminds me of a motivated Shaun Rogers.
rankings do not have him in the top 5, and projected draft boards have him going anywhere from 16-22. Much was said about Glenn Dorsey and where has he been? Hankins would benefit from another year and would then possibly be a top 5 pick. he def has the measurables, but seems to take plays off at times. either way, he will def help a team out
Welcome to Oakland
He’s ready. Good luck big man.
I’m always wary of Buckeye products. They’re textbook system guys. Hankins has the heft and brawn but I wouldn’t christen this guy the next Warren Sapp.
