Read Gary Myers’ “Coaching Confidential: Inside the Fraternity of NFL Coaches”. There is no way any Saints fan who can read can come away thinking Payton is innocent, and thereby, that this programme didn’t occur.

Saints fans: READ Tagliabue’s findings before you start yelling in comments about Vilma being proven innocent of these allegations and talking about Payton being wrongfully suspended. The player punishment was vacated because the coaches and Loomis are fully to blame for perpetuating the bounty program after being repeatedly told to stop. There was sufficient evidence to punish more Saints players, but Tagliabue determined that, based on league action in similar situations, suspensions were not warranted and fines would have been adequate. Let’s not forget that Vilma made the SI bounties cover his Twitter avi for a significant period of time. His defamation suit is a joke.

Had Goodell been reasonable with his punishments in the first place, none of this would have happened. The 2007 Packers and 2008 Patriots were caught running a system like the one the Saints were accused of in 2009. Both of those teams received a $25k fine, Saints lost their HC for a season, GM for 8 games, Assistant Coach for 6 games, 2 2nd round draft picks, and fined $500K . Doesnt really seem too reasonable to me.

So let me get this straight. The blame goes solely to the Saints organization and suspensions lifted on the players. Vilma wants to sue. Since there was bounties paid out…who got paid? Did Vilma receive any money from the coaches bounty? If yes…he is still guilty even if he didn’t put up money to hurt Brett. Anyone who accepted money should be held accountable as well as the organization who put up the money.

Screw the lie detector test. One side has already sworn under penalty of purgers (Jail time) that no bounty system took place. I wonder if the NFL will take the stand without being forced to. No because they are hiding behind a bunch of lies and will get caught at it eventually.

Tagliabue said players engaged in conduct detrimental to the league. He said they participated in a performance pool that rewarded key plays, including hard tackles, that could merit fines. And he stressed that the team’s coaches were very much involved. This entire case has been contaminated by the coaches and others in the Saints’ organization.

Both sides need to man up and take a lie detector test, to prove who’s innocent. I am still wondering, if the Vilma and the Saints were so innocent, how come Payton, Williams and a few other players aren’t fighting the case like Vilma is.

We want the truth…whatever it may be and whoever is implicated…the fans deserve to know the truth.

If the NFL wants to keep their secrets, they are going to have to pony up a good chunk of cash for Vilma.

For the Saints, how will they ever get back the year Roger Goodell took away from them…one of the best teams heading into the 2012 season.

The loser in this case will pay for their gross misjudgments and false allegations…and here’s a hint, it won’t Jonathan Vilma paying.

What’s funny is I’ve been watching ESPN since this story broke like 2 hrs ago, I’ve seen a small mention of the players victory maybe like 3 minutes of it total. Now when these accusations first happened ESPN couldn’t stop talking about it, everything against the players were broadcast immediately. Now where’s the coverage?

And these are the fools you choose to follow? Talking to the idiots who hang on every word the league, ESPN and Goodell says like its the bible.

I hope Vilma wins. The NFL hoped that the players weren’t going to fight back but they were wrong. They had a flimsy case led by disreputable characters, characters with poor credibility. There was enough reasonable doubt that the NFL thought that it would just bully its way through and the players would lie down against the big, bad, huffing, and puffing NFL. Not so. Glad the players won, hopes Vilma wins bigger.

Really sounds like not only was Vilma innocent, but that he was completely innocent. Looks like the NFL will be coming out the pocket.

I just wonder what the case against Greg Williams looks like?
