To the guy who said Browns will win regardless, yeah, whatever. Okay, so this is the NFL where either team has a shot to win on either given Sunday. Still, to basically guarentee that the Browns has an 100% of winning is stupifying considering your 'expansion' franchise haven't experienced success at any level thus far.

Tell you what, we'll keep Cousins warm so that you guys can trade for him in 3 years. After all, you guys are playing a 29 years old rookie QB whose physical and mental capability have already fully matured and reached the ceiling.

Cousins has the physical tools, maturity level and the correct mental attitude to become a solid NFL QB. Maybe not All-Pro level but an upper tier starter like Matt Schuab is not out of the question. This is one of the reasons why the Redskins picked him. It was as much a value pick as it is an insurance policy for their RGIII investment.

Now for those people who said that the 'Skins won't trade Cousins away, think again. Maybe that won't happen this year but in 2014 or 2015? You can bank on a trade if Cousins continues to develop and learn. They certainly won't just let him play out his rookie contract and end up with nothing in return.

The fact is, QB starved teams have been very willing use their assets to acquire backup QBs that have shown starter potential. The Cards parted with a second rounder and Rodgers-Cromartie for Kolb. KC trade their high second round pick for Cassel. The Texans used two second rounders to get Schuab. Hell, even Flynn managed to land himself a 26 million starters contract after just two good starts. Remember that Cousins is a 4th round pick so if the 'Skins can get something higher than that in return, it will be a solid return of investment and they won't hesitate to pull the trigger.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if the Cards, Jags, Jets, or Chiefs all start knocking on the 'Skins door regarding Cousins as soon as this upcoming off-season.

I know I'm no Dick Jauron or anything but if I'm preparing for a game against the Redskins I'm preparing for Cousins. Not because RGIII might not play but just the fact that if he does play he's going to be stationary. If the Redskins are going to beat the Browns it wasn't going to be via offense anyway as the whole reason the Browns have a win streak is because their now healthy defense is injuring opponents offensive play makers regularly and if they aren't injuring them, they're hurting them to the point that they become very fragile (see the 8 turnovers vs the Steelers). On top of that the Ravens aren't even in the same time zone as the Browns as far as pass defense so an encore of what Cousins did to them isn't likely.

Forcing Weeden to throw picks is how you beat Cleveland. If they try to win off the legs of RGIII or the arm of Cousins either one or both are out for the season and the Browns will be able to win off the leg of their kicker.

When I hear Browns fans say that they will prepare for RG3 like they did Vick, it makes me think of the statement Mike Tyson made "Everyone has a plan until you get punched in the face", period. The Giants had a game plan as well and lost once but should have lost twice. Not sure whether RG3 will play, but the Browns better hope Kirk plays. Either way I think Kirk will do a good job and it's hard to prepare for a guy that you have seen sparingly or 2 different QBs, so it's a smart deception by the Skins. To be honest it would not surprise me if RG3 plays, the kid is a winner with the heart of a Lion. And the Skins know that they will be in a fight, because the Browns aren't a bad team, just a young team with no identity and that is very dangerous.

kiskins says:
Why would you trade Cousins? You know RG3 most likely won’t make it through an entire season year in and year out. It’s not just RG3, look at most QB’s in this league (concussions, neck injuries, etc), they typically miss a game or two. So, why not keep Cousins? Even though he’s only played a handful of snaps, he seems like a smart and talented QB. He could help this team compete in the event RG3 goes down again. Would you rather have Jason Campbell or Rex Grossman? If you go with a mediocre (or less) as your #2 QB…you better have a stud defense.

...Cousins won't be traded this offseason, but he should be next year or year after if Skins can get a decent return. Need to recoup picks. Grossman is actually the perfect backup for this team. Kyle and he are very comfortable with each other. Look how well he moved the ball last year. With the vastly improved recievers, running game, and O-line play we've seen this year, he would be even better and should cut down on the TOs. Will come cheap since no other teams seem to want him. He's not great, but he's underrated in this system.

I love how Garcon let it slip that Cousins would start then when asked about it, said oh no I'm just preparing for the worst case scenario. Gee, way to be in your backup's corner there, Garcon. LOL

I really loved Cousins in the draft. I wish the Pats could have taken him but they needed all defense. I think he could be the perfect successor to TB. Heck he even looks a little like a blond TB. He's BB's kind of QB. Smart, team player, great leader, etc.

wow if RG3 is out for another week and Cousins plays well, could be a blessing in disguise. give the kid a full start before you trade him in the offseason.
------------------------
Cousins will not be traded this year. The Redskins only trade Cousins this off season if they have someone else who can be their backup QB. And if you have seen the other RG play, you know that do not have someone else who can be their backup QB.

I agree with Morris. If you watched him at Michigan State, if you've seen him in preseason action, heard him interviewed, there's every reason to believe he's going to be an excellent QB if he gets the opportunity. He's surely a different style of QB than Griffin, but he can and will shine on the NFL stage if he gets a shot.

Why would you trade Cousins? You know RG3 most likely won't make it through an entire season year in and year out. It's not just RG3, look at most QB's in this league (concussions, neck injuries, etc), they typically miss a game or two. So, why not keep Cousins? Even though he's only played a handful of snaps, he seems like a smart and talented QB. He could help this team compete in the event RG3 goes down again. Would you rather have Jason Campbell or Rex Grossman? If you go with a mediocre (or less) as your #2 QB...you better have a stud defense.
