The NFL’s injury policy states, “All players with
significant or noteworthy injuries
must be listed on the report, even if the player takes all the reps in practice, and even if the team is certain that he will play in the upcoming game. This is especially true of key players.”

What is considered significant or noteworthy ??
OL has a 9 cm x 6cm laceration on his forearm which needs to be bandaged up and could reopen and start bleeding during the next game
Another has an abrasion …. 22 of the starters have bruises from last weeks game that could get worse during this weeks game ….
Rothlisberger obviously broke his nose but we were told on air during game that it was not broken (what was it .. sprained ? ) …. and in the weeks that followed, he was not put on “the injury report” for a broken nose. (which doesn’t heal in one week)
This IS football … every football player gets banged up during games. Do we list them all ?
None of these affected their play on the field or kept them out of games.
Maybe the NFL needs to clear up what they consider significant or noteworthy. (Or maybe we just list all 75 boo-boo’s / “injuries” for each team each week)

Ravens were fined for Reed not being mentioned. Saints should be fined for Graham not being mentioned.

Saints coach Joe Vitt said he was impressed with the way Graham has played through the pain.

“I think it’s been ongoing all season,” Vitt said. “But I think Jimmy has done a real good job of working through his nicks.”

The Bills got fined 20k when it came out that Mario Williams was playing with an undisclosed wrist injury. It’s hard to imagine the Saints aren’t spanked similarly. Chump change, something should be done about the process, teams are always gonna keep what they can quiet about their star players to lessen the chances they get targeted.

Dictionary definition:

Significant – Sufficiently great or important to be worthy of attention; noteworthy.

Noteworthy – Interesting, significant, or unusual.

Does anything in this article lead ANYONE to believe that his “wrist injury” fits either one of those definitions.

The saints mgmt and coaching staff KNOW that they are under the microscope. What FOOLS they are for not going to extra lengths to make their injury reports (and everything else) transparent and overly accurate. I already lost all respect for the organization before this, but this just adds layers and layers. Dumb. Sad. Irresponsible.

The injury was neither significant nor noteworthy.

Another example of Roger Goodell’s contempt and disregard for player safety. Doesn’t Jimmy Graham have some right to doctor patient confidentiality and to not have his weaknesses announced to opponents likely to target them for injury? Its time to end this double standard and stop having a senseless rule where Achilles has to report his heel even if he is certain to play. This rule can only be intended to endanger players by making them more vulnerable to reinjury by opponents. If the Saints are fined, Graham should sue the NFL.

Give me a break. The guy has been dealing with this all season. He hasn’t missed a single game because of it, nor was he ever doubtful to play because of it. Had the Saints listed this injury on the injury report, I would guess the chances of him having that wrist injured worse would be much greater once every defensive player on the opposition knew about it. There would be someone trying to target his wrist on every single snap.

If he or the Saints get punished for this, then how about take action aginst the Patriots having their entire 53 man roster questionable or doubtful before each game?

At some point the NFL must decide between what’s best for the players and having someone capitalize on having inside information concerning a player’s injury.

Personally, I see no need to report a player’s injury if he can play on game day (other than it’s against the rules). But that’s just my opinion.

If an opposing team knows a player has an owie, that owie will be targeted and given a little extra attention.

IMO, some calls and no-calls makes plenty of us wonder if somebody isn’t having their palm greased to favor of one team over another.
