My heartfelt respect goes out to the Patriots, Jets and Giants. Honoring Sandy Hook Elementary School on the back of their helmets is an extremely respectful gesture to show their support for a comunity in their area facing horrific tragedy, loss and sorrow. I live in a town about 5 miles from the shooting and am sick to my stomach about what all of the kids and parents are going through…..

How come in these mass shootings, the scum who commit these heinous acts rarely ever have the guts to not kill themselves and face the families of their victims!!!

I was hoping that what happened in Connecticut would not permeate a site dedicated to a trivial aspect of life such as pro football. But it has.

That being said, it was the latest, and perhaps saddesty entry in what has become a tapestry of tragic events in this country caused by sick people who instead of getting help or institutionalized decide to murder countless innocents.

I don’t even know where I’m going with this and I wouldn’t even begin to know what to say to any of those parents who lost a child. That kills your soul. There is nothing we can say or do that will help them “get over” this. And every time it happens we vow to not let it happen again, yet it does.

What are we becoming?

Football is a game, period. As a CT> resident and not far from Foxboro, or NY, those teams have all done something to honor the lives of those lost, the parents in mourning and grief , they may never get over.
God bless the teams for the respect Pats; Jets; Giants.
Trust me, this is a small state, and the town of Newtown is quiet, small, and has an old town neighbor to neighbor atmosphere, they need our prayers.

I only cried two times in my adult life. Once when we buried my parents and the second was yesterday upon hearing the news of all those children killed and picking up my 6 and 8 year old from school. They were a tad confused when dad ran and gave them huge hugs outside the car and was bawling like a baby.

This was not a gun safety issue. Gun safety issues involve not knowing where the safety is, shooting someone accidently, or shooting yourself when you clean your weapon. This was a lunatic issue. Mental health issues perhaps, but lets not go all political and start screaming from the rooftops for tougher gun laws. Blame goes to the shooter. Blaming guns for this is like blaming forks and spoons for obesity.

Pray for those 20 angels and their families, and of course the teachers who tried valiently to protect them to the death.

Proud to be a fan of this team. They’re doing the only thing that makes sense, honoring the lives that were lost.

Such a horrible tragedy my prayers are with the families of the victims, the victims themselves, and everybody else affected.

Was there a 2nd shooter? (just like in Aurora)

What was the motive?

Why was there a “drill” the same day of the shooting?
