Getty ImagesCowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and linebacker DeMarcus Ware both vowed to play through injuries this week to help the team continue pushing for a playoff spot, but things weren’t quite that easy for cornerback Morris Claiborne.
Claiborne suffered a concussion against the Bengals last week when he ran into safety Danny McCray, therefore his status is contingent on getting clearance from an independent neurologist before the game. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network spoke to a source with the Cowboys who told him that Claiborne has not received that clearance as of late Saturday night and will miss Sunday’s game against the Steelers “barring a late and dramatic change.”
Claiborne was able to practice in a limited fashion during the week, but, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, he got dizzy after Thursday’s workout. If Claiborne does miss the game, it will be his first time he’s missed one in his rookie season.
Mike Jenkins will likely get the start in Claiborne’s place. Sterling Moore and Michael Coe, each of whom have joined the team recently, would be in line for roles in sub packages against the Steelers.

Wow…he’s a regular iron man.
Gotta give Rob Ryan credit for the patch work he’s doing on his defense…Both starting Lb’s out for season along with safety Barry Church,Slot corner Orlando Scandrick & two starting d-linemen..now Claiborne…that many starters missing on any team defense is tough!!!!
Jenkins will start in his place and that favors the Steelers.
