The Seahawks are pretty hot right now

We’ve covered most of the high points of the Seahawks’ 50-17 win over the Bills in Toronto already this afternoon, but we’ll try to tie things up in a neat little bow.

The Seahawks scored on their first five possessions, including three rushing touchdowns by quarterback Russell Wilson, to take a 31-17 halftime lead. They then scored 16 points in the third quarter thanks to Ryan Fitzpatrick turnovers on three straight possessions. And then they ran a fake punt to set themselves up for a field goal that made them just the third team in NFL history to score at least 50 points in back to back weeks.

Buffalo was totally overwhelmed by Wilson and Marshawn Lynch, who wound up with 113 yards on just 10 carries. He’s run 21 times for 241 yards over the last two weeks. Wilson ran for 92 yards and threw for 205 without having to do too much in the second half. Big play followed big play almost the entire afternoon and things got out of hand once the Bills offense totally lost its way after halftime.

Seattle’s heading into their Week 16 home game with the 49ers on quite the hot streak. Counting overtime against the Bears, the Seahawks have scored 108 points in their last 10 quarters of football while allowing just 20. If the 49ers lose to the Patriots on Sunday night, that game will be for the NFC West lead heading into the final weekend.

It’s a good time to be on a hot streak and there’s no one hotter in the NFL right now than the Seahawks.
