In what could be one of the final roster moves before a “new era in Chargers football” launches, San Diego’s NFL team has placed a trio of players on injured reserve.
Done for the duration are running back Ryan Mathews (collarbone), receiver Malcom Floyd (ankle), and tackle Reggie Wells (ankle-toe). All three were injured in Sunday’s loss to the Panthers.
Two of the three vacancies were filled by elevating a pair of players from the practice squad: receiver Mike Willie and defensive end Damik Scafe.
