Most any one of us regular Joes would lose our jobs if we were so much as charged with a felony, let alone convicted. Luckily, however, there ARE a few virtuous role models on those sidelines. Unfortunately, the media nor the NFL really seem to care and will never highlight them for such conduct.

I personally don’t understand why the Cowboys are all of a sudden averse to having criminals on their sideline. It certainly hasn’t bothered them when they’re there in uniform.

Seems Brent made his own luck and was too stupid to figure out the lesson from getting picked up the first time.

But he was found to be legally drunk, with a BAC level of 0.12. You’re right, Stallworth was afforded the due process that the Constitution says we have a right to. Josh Brent has not been afforded that right yet, though.

I don’t agree with this nor do I understand this logic. Just because she forgave him doesn’t mean anyone else is obligated to. As you said, forgiveness is for yourself. It’s a decision each person has to make.

While those of us in the public are not directly effected we have every right to be upset at someone who foolishly and selfishly violated the law, endangered others, and killed someone as a result. Crimes don’t only effect the victim, they have an effect on society. The public is justified in being angry and disturbed by this. This idea that people are wrong for criticizing or not supporting or immediately forgiving a drunk driver is very bizarre.

However, If he is going to be there, at least act contrite. I mean, you did just kill someone. Couldn’t believe I saw him laughing and joking. Felt really creepy watching it.

If I were him, I’d been too ashamed and sick to my stomach to have made such an appearance.

The Cowboys should get a little heat, but most of it should be aimed at Josh Brent who once again showed terrible lack of judgement by even showing up.

Donte Stallworth spent a year in jail and paid the family of the victim several million dollars.

He did the crime, paid the fine…I’d say he deserves a second chance in life.

But even given all that, I’m not really following why a member of the Dallas Cowboys would be banned from the sidelines of the Dallas Cowboys. Either the NFL or the Cowboys could suspend him and ban him from the sidelines. Why that hasn’t happened is beyond me, but until it does happen it’s more than a bit hypocritical for them to complain about him being around the team.

If the NFL is going to take this hard of stand, then they better do it to everyone who gets a DUI – since it is only a fortunate occurance when someone doesn’t get killed or hurt.

The mistake was Josh driving drunk – not that he purposefully killed someone.

What you’re missing is the pain that a lot of people feel when it comes to drunk driving. I’m sure Brent regrets his actions, but unlike the untold numbers of people who have been killed by a drunk driver (or killed someone because they were drunk), Brent had the same chance/ability as we all have to not become a statistic.

He made a bad choice, but this isn’t only about him. It’s about every other person affected by drunk driving, which, sad to say, is all of us.

Dante Stallworth served his sentence and went back to work. Also, Dante behaved MUCH differently that this idiot. The eyewitness account of what happened after the accident says everything we need to know about this scumbags frame of mind.

The dead guy’s mother has embraced him because she feels his remorse..isn’t that a sign to us all? This man is struggling to make it and he needs his Cowboys teammates for support right now. He ACCIDENTALLY killed his best friend. He’s in Hell right now. He may be suicidal for all we know.
