Most of the coverage of Monday night’s 14-10 Titans win has focused on the Jets offense finding new and deeper bottoms of the barrel, but there was fallout for the Titans as well.

One piece of that fallout is the rib injury suffered by rookie wide receiver Kendall Wright. Wright landed on Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie on an attempted deep ball in the fourth quarter of the game and said that he heard and felt his rib cracking when he made contact.

“I knew it when I tried to go back out there and run. I knew that I shouldn’t do anything to hurt the team, so I had to come out,” Wright said, via John Glennon of the Tennessean. “And at that point, they wanted to get an X-ray and it didn’t look too good.”

There’s no prognosis for how long Wright will be sidelined, but the lateness of the season makes it possible that we won’t see Wright again until next year. If that’s the case, he’ll finish the year with 62 catches, the second-most by a rookie in the history of the Oilers/Titans franchise and a promising sign about what he might do for the Tennessee offense in the future.

Cracked ribs are welcome at Lambeau next Sunday. This injury will help bring 8 or 9 guys into the box to stop Johnson.

Romo played with cracked ribs against the 49ers last year…rub some dirt on it and get out there!

Wright is going to be pretty good. He has some amazing speed and can run a rout. It will be fun watching him over the next few years. Especially if Locker can get good.
