No one can deny the religious bigotry directed at Tebow by some commenters. But that has nothing to do with football ability. My Christian faith is extremely important to me … but it’s not going to make me believe Tim Tebow has the skills to be an NFL quarterback. Maybe, with a lot of time and a lot of work, he can learn the proper passing technique. But when McDaniels took him in the first round, he lost the opportunity to sit back and study for a few years. His pay level makes it necessary to start him now. And he doesn’t have the skillset to start now. His successes in Denver were the result of flukes, not good play. Flukes won’t succeed over the long haul. It’s not a question of picking on the guy; it’s business reality.

Tebow is not a good QB mechanically. But he has all the intangibles you want in a leader. The Broncos finished 8-8, but he didn’t start all 16 games – HIS record was a winning record. Why can’t the haters remember that?

Lots of teams make the playoffs with good QBs and lose or get “obliterated”. Why can’t the haters remember that?

A blow out is usually indicative of a bad defensive day. Why can’t the haters remember that?

Aaron Rodgers had the best team record in the league last year and didn’t win a playoff game. Why can’t the haters remember that?

It just goes to show everyone what a clueless organization the Jets really are. Why sign a guy if you don’t plan on using him or at least trying to develop him? The Jets are run by some true, TRUE morons. And what’s worse, the article seems to confirm what I suspected all along- they did tell Tebow that they were over the moon about the chance to sign him, etc., etc.. only to let the guy rot on the bench and insult him further by only putting him in for a couple of stupid running plays and blocking for punts.

It’s a strange situation all around. Tebow was traded from a winning organization to a losing organization with a volatile environment when he might’ve steered himself to a loser organization that would’ve welcome him home. In acquiring Tebow, the Jets left themselves open to failure with Sanchez, having no viable back up qb. Meanwhile, Drew Stanton went from the loser Lions, where he had no chance of playing, unless Stafford and Hill were injured, to the dysfunctional Jets and then engineered a relocation to Indianapolis, a winning organization for which he has no chance of playing unless Luck is injured. Looking back, one must wonder who would want to be where if offered a mulligan?

I hope the Jets pick up Mick Vic. He is better than Tebow. Tebow is not a good passer. He can run, but not pass. Tebow should be a fullback and learn how to block.

Arizona would have picked him up if he was released a few weeks ago and cleared waivers. Jacksonville wanted him but he(Broncos) turned down their request and picked the Jets.

Regardless of your opinion of his football skills he is a stand-up guy by doing whatever he does in private. The NFL could use a healthy dose of Tebow in a number of areas.

I agree – Bill B is a great teacher and if Tebow has the skills and willingness to play other than QB he might make a great TE (even a blocking TE). Tebow certainly has the heart to play ball – just got to find a place for him or get him a QB coach to change his mechanics. But right now he is in the wrong place with the wrong team and coach.

He really isn’t a starting QB so if he does want a trade it will only be to go and hold a clipboard somewhere else. He became a ‘craze’ and is still living off that but it should be recognised that he is way down the list of QBs in terms of talent in the NFL.

As I recall only Jacksonville and NY expressed interest in Tebow last year. Nothing has happened to grow that field as far as I know. In Jacksonville he could still sell tickets and would be appreciated in the community. I’d like to see him end up there… Sure, he wanted to go to NY, but I perceive that they painted him a rosy picture that never came to fruition.

He’ll probably have to take a pay cut, but send him to Jacksonville or cut him.

3. By the way, Mularkey absolutely sucks. He sucked in Buffalo and Miami, and had weapons in Atlanta that covered up for him. I think McDaniels sucks, too. But if Belichick gets a second chance in his career after Cleveland, why not McDaniels and Tebow in Jax next year.

I live in Jax and am not a Jags fan. But I would go to some games just to see what happens if that scenario were to play out.
