i sincerely hope that all you Jets fans clamoring for Tebow get your wish. Someone cited the Playoff game against Pittsburgh as evidence; 9-20 through 4 qtrs. 9 completions…in 4 quarters. That comes out to 2.25 completions per quarter. Should the Jets blow it up, draft a young qb and start over? *shakes magic 8-ball* “All signs point to yes.”

The only problem with this move is it should have been done long before now, this move is like closing the barn door after the horses ran out. I blame the Jet front office for Sanchez, if they didn’t see by last year that he wasn’t a good QB they need to find someone to evaluate talent, then to add insult to injury, they extend Sanchez for two more years, what the hell were they thinking.

All we heard from Jets fans two years ago was how Sanchez was a winner, how the two AFC championship appearances proved Sexy Rexy was the right guy for the job and blah, blah, blah.

Well, here are some facts for you. Ryan has 34 wins in his first four seasons and 28 in his first three with two playoff appearances to boot although one was tainted because the Colts decided to field their junior B team in a game that allowed the Jets to sneak into the playoffs (oh, I can hear the howls of indignation from Jets fans everywhere). Well, Herm Edwards had 35 wins and 3 playoff appearances in his first four seasons and no one thought he was great. Joe Walton had 35 wins and 2 playoff appearances in his first four seasons and no one thought he was great. Bill Parcells had 29 wins and 1 playoff season (and missed the playoffs with a 9 and 7 record when Sexy Rexy got in with the same record) and everyone thought he had lost his magic.

Ryan is a hack. And every Jets fan who crowed about him and Sanchez is now getting their comeuppance. Tastes really sweet from here.

John Elway is a Hall Of Fame championship-winning QB. If he didn’t think he could win with Tebow, no team will – unless they scrap their entire system and build around the read-option. And no NFL team will risk their salary cap numbers to bring in enough guys to make the read-option work full time.

I watched the whole game and the final play was a recap of their whole season. Just pathetic. I feel bad for Tebow, no one can explain why they even got him. Sparano has made it even worse, he needs to go!

Patriot fan here. I’m going partly agree with you. I’m not sure Sanchez has the accuracy and decision-making skills inherent in great (even good) QB’s.

I wholeheartedly agree with Sanchez being a whipping boy trying to survive in that disgusting NY spotlight, terrible supporting cast, etc. He’s been part of a bad locker room. Tim Tebow.

I actually felt bad for him last night. He looked miserable playing a sport that he probably used to love (now that you’re safely in the rear-view I can say this).

This is the fault of the Jet organization. Not saying Sanchez would be some great qb, but he wouldn’t be this bad with better coaching. I mean you do nothing but have a great defense, ground and pound run game, and just ask the QB to not screw up. What do you think is gonna happen when those things go down and you ask the QB to run the show?

Anyone else notice how WIDE OPEN Powell was on that pick into the endzone intended for Edwards ( I think)

Powell moves out of the backfield into the center of the field where TENN linebackers had been and is wide open for an easy 4-7 yard gain in normal circumstances.
However, there was no-one within 10 yards of him. He could caught it and ran to inside the 10 yards line before anyone caught him, maybe even break the plane.

Sanchez is a fool – take the what the D gives you and matriculate the ball down the field, score a TD and win the game. Jackwagon

As a Giants fan living in South Florida – Sparano = run, run, pass, punt.

Jetfan28, I think you’ve nailed it there! I’m a pats fan and was watching out of playoff curiosity, and I couldn’t believe the circus I was watching! Sanchez was lining up WR’s and almost not making the clock, poor blocking, dropped passes, Tebow coming in and out…..it’s a nightmare.

I’m impressed he hasn’t snapped at the media yet! Give him props for that much!

Tough year for Sanchez; played poorly but injuries to key teammates plus the Tebow circus have a lot to do with it as well…..

Also a good reminder that while good QB play is key, it’s only part of building a successful team…..Sanchez is rightfully praised for his four road playoff victories in his first two seasons, while Matt Ryan is scorned for his 0-3 playoff record (same as Peyton Manning’s in his first 3 playoff games) despite the success and stability he has brought to Atlanta…..anybody want to trade Mark Sanchez for Matt Ryan today ? Ryan has not played well in the playoffs (yet), but Atlanta has never had more than a average defense; while the Jets defense was the catalyst for most of Sanchez’ playoff success…..

Always good to remember that Trent Dilfer and Mark Rypien have Super Bowl winning rings….while Dan Mario and Warren Moon do not.

Continued:
Kerley, Powell all missed time. Keller a significant amount.
Sanchez has been put in a horrible situation and it has shown as his propensity to turn the ball over has dramatically increased.
Simple fixes actually. New OC. Acquire a WR,RG and a Safety.(Edwards looked good last night)
Trade Tebow.
Bring in 2 QBs to compete with Sanchez.(He may be a goner already)
The draft and free agency need to focus on Offense. The defense would be greatly improved just by cuttting down on all the turnovers committed by the Offense.
Really not that difficult to pull off during the off season.

Jets were in AFC championship game two years ago. They have a top 5 defense. They lost Revis. It’s clear that Rex and Tannenbaum are victims of circumstances… They have Sanchez under contract for another year. They should stay the course. They should also keep Tebow next year. He is a tremendous asset. All they need is for the head coach to be a little more optimistic about his team and their chances.

To all the peeps who actually watched every Jets game for the last four years, you will probably agree with me on this. The rest of the morons who catch the highlights on ESPN or NFLN dont have a clue on what is actually going on with the JETS.
Rex is a very good coach who came up through the ranks as an expert on defense. So of course he wont be as astute on offense. He screwed the pooch with Sparano. You can predict 80% of Sparano’s play calling. Almost every time Sanchez started to move the ball in comes Tebow to do absolutely nothing but put Sanchez in a big hole to dig out of.
The offensive line can run block but has problems on pass protection, usually at RG.
Devestating injuries for the JETS this year. Revis and Holmes on IR early in the season. Keller, Hill, Mcknight
