Rib injury may end season for Bears’ Michael Bush

The Bears may have to go through the rest of the regular season and -- they hope -- the postseason without running back Michael Bush.

Bush missed Sunday’s game against the Packers with a rib injury, and Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that the Bears are weighing whether to put Bush on injured reserve, which would mean he’s done for the season and the postseason. Bush has been a solid No. 2 running back for the Bears behind Matt Forte, and Bush is leading the team with five rushing touchdowns.

If the Bears do lose Bush, they would be down to Forte and Armando Allen on their running back depth chart. Free agent running back Kahlil Bell, who was cut by the Bears in October, could be an option if the Bears decide they need more depth at the position.
