With Bush on IR, Bears bring back Kahlil Bell

Bell AP

As expected, the Bears have placed running back Michael Bush on injured reserve, with a rib injury.

And they’ve replaced him with the running back who became less relevant with Bush’s arrival via free agency:  Kahlil Bell.

Bell was No. 3 on the depth chart in 2011, behind Matt Forte and Marion Barber.  Bell rushed for 337 yards in 2011, with one start.

Bell spent some time with the Jets this season after being cut by the Bears.

So that’s why Bush did not play in short yardage situations (like first and goal from the 1 — when the Bears could not score) on Sunday against the Packers.

So, if the Bears make the playoffs (somewhat big IF, granted), they would play in the wild card round in 3 weeks.
3 WEEKS! And you’re telling me a “rib injury” is going to knock Bush out of that, even if it’s just to go into the game for like 3 or 4 short yardage carries? What a joke.

Playoffs?? Are you kidding me?! Playoffs?!

    Sincerely,
    A more realistic Bears fan.

It seems like half the team is on IR now.

Lovie is the one they should put on “IR” since the Packers game was no big deal. Beating the Cards and Lions sounds like Mt. Everest right now, let alone any play-off caliber team.

It’s absurd that big-money glass-man Forte can’t punch the ball in within 5 yards to save his life.

Gain some weight, eat your wheaties, grow a pair, whatever. I don’t care. Sack up and earn that money.

The biggest ‘if’ to the Bears making the playoffs is winning their last two games…’If’ they somehow manage that, there are enough different scenarios that would get them in, even one where (supposedly) they make it at 9-7 if Dallas also finishes with the same mark.

Better they don’t get in, and Lovie gets canned.
