APThe Dolphins will play the final two games of the season without running back Daniel Thomas.
Thomas was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with a knee injury suffered in last week’s win over the Jaguars. Thomas’ season ends with 325 yards and four touchdowns on 91 carries as a complement to Reggie Bush in the Miami backfield. That was a drop in usage from the 2011 second-round pick’s rookie season, with the fact that Bush has been in the lineup all season accounting for the decline.
Bush may not be in the lineup at all in 2013, though. He’s set to become a free agent and said recently that there aren’t any contract talks underway with the team. Thomas would be in position to benefit from Bush’s absence, assuming he leaves, as long as he remains in front of 2012 fourth-rounder Lamar Miller and anyone else that the team brings in.
The Dolphins signed defensive back Julian Posey off the practice squad. He joins Dimitri Patterson, claimed off waivers Tuesday, as new members of the Miami secondary.

As a Dolphins fan, I cant stand Daniel Thomas. For a guy his size he sure runs soft, fumbles, and gets hurt often. I cant wait till its Miller time
The word I’m looking for to describe Daniel Thomas….
Underwhelming
I dislike Thomas too. Looks like a power back doesn’t play like one. He sometimes shoots through a hole for a good gain, but its over when a DB makes contact.
I hope they work something out with Bush and split snaps with him and Lamar Miller.
I have no idea to this day why Jeff Ireland traded up to pick up and injury prone guy who fumbles the football.
Dolphins Draft the RB out of Alabama next year..Reggie’s gone
We should have never got rid of Lorenzo Booker, try to trade Thomas and get some guys in there that can run the west coast offence, they don’t even have to be top tier players, just smart and hungry.
LMAO Lorenzo Booker sucked. Terrible idea.
I like to see Marcus Thigpen get a shot that guy know’s how to hit a hole
Thomas will be released this off-season, thats a promise. Although Ireland is the GM, I have a strong feeling the Fins Drafting Thomas was more of a Sparano pick for his ground-and-pound-FG offense that he employs to stun and dismantle any Defense on the face of the planet!
dolphin fans always talk about not having any playmakers but most of them are ready to her rid of Bush, one of the biggest playmakers in the game. the defenses account for Bush every game. take him away and it doesn’t matter what we we bring in. but did of Thomas, keep bush
Goodbye Reggie Bush and Daniel Thoams, hello Rashard Mendenhall.
Daniel Thomas is almost always injured, when he’s healthy he fumbles the ball,….but he looks exactly like Cameron Wake.
