NFL agent Albert Elias passes away

NFL agent Albert Elias, president of Elias Sports Management, has passed away.

Elias client and free-agent NFL safety Chris Harris confirmed the passing of Elias, who was 41.

Elias currently represented eight active NFL players according to the NFLPA’s Player-Agent Database. Elias was the agent for St. Louis Rams 2012 first round pick Michael Brockers and negotiated a lucrative extension for Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams before the 2011 season.

Elias also represented Bills cornerback Rob Brooks, Detroit Lions cornerback Lionel Smith, Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Josh Chapman, Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Travis Daniels, Miami Dolphins safety Kelcie McCray, and Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Al Woods.

Many fellow agents took to twitter to offer condolences.

David Canter tweeted, “Terrible news tonight regarding one of own. Condolences to agent Albert Elias’s family and clients on his untimely passing.

Mike McCartney offered similar condolences, “Sad to hear that a fellow sports agent, Albert Elias has passed away. Albert always had a smile on his face and was a good guy. #RIP”

“My prayers are with the family of Albert Elias. A young agent loved by his clients gone far too soon. RIP,” agent Martin Fischman tweeted.
