With the slow demise of a once-great defense, coupled with Tomlin’s increasing incompetence, relying on SuperBen to keep the Steelers in “contention year in and year out” … well, don’t hold your breath.
The Steelers are in contention this season only because the AFC in general and the AFC North in particular stink.

Even though Roethlisberger’s postgame comments were tame and harmless, this story has taken on a life of its own…
Thursday’s USA Today ran a story with this headline: “Roethlisberger regrets ripping coordinator.”
Ripping?
ESPN has devoted much time on this subject, ranting that Roethlisberger is upset with Haley because Haley won’t allow him to run the “no huddle offense” more frequently…
That’s funny.
Roethlisberger used to complain about the same thing when Arians was his OC. ESPN, however, never mentioned that.
ESPN also never mentioned that the Steelers were in the “no huddle” when Roethlisberger threw his game-ending interception…
It’s no wonder people have no trust in the media. Joe Namath used to say that if you can’t believe what’s on the sports page, then you certainly can’t believe what’s on the front page.

The Steeler’s are so good perenially that a record of 7-7 with a good chance at the playoffs is a down year. You proved the organizational greatness of the Steelers.

Don’t worry about the steel industry, we rebounded…quite nicely I may add.

Ben only talks when he is not getting any attention. The sports media never talks about BEN. They talk about the team they are playing
that week. In Pgh. they think he is so great but
that is the only place. Me I can’t stop thinking about his off the field acts.

That was brown in end zone fumble with Chargers, not Wallace and that Chargers game was lost 20 other ways before that end zone fumble play, nothing to do with Wallace….

It was brown that duffed the fumble ( he should’ve just kicked it out of bounds), but regardless I get your point. The whole receiving crew has made a lot of fundamental mistakes this season. Like the “young money crew” but they dont seem to bright sometimes.

The steelers lose a couple in a row and they are all of a sudden collapsing and crumbling. Too Funny, People say the same thing all the time and every year there are the steelers battling for the division. 2 wins and their in, and even if they didn’t get in, the steelers will always be in contention year in and year out as long as Big Ben is around.

“Still, conflict best occurs behind closed doors, away from the eyes and ears of the media.”

That’s BS I want to see a coach in a guys face if he’s playing like Tinkerbell or going through the motions or playing like he didn’t know any better.

F if the media sees flare ups on the sidelines what do they know? Haley has been great in getting the most out of his players and he doesn’t BS them he does what he says he will.

Honestly, I am enjoying this Steelers collapse.

They should be looking at Mike Wallace, first he duffed up the end zone fumble against the Chargers, and then he hesitates tackling the cowboys guy who intercepted the pass in ot.

I’m not sure Haley has the personnel to run his offense in Pittsburgh after the team drafted personnel suited for Arians’ system! Either way Ben needs to shut his mouth and play! I love the guy but he hasn’t played worth a crap in big games last few years and it would seem he is getting pass…it’s either the offensive line, coordinator ect…just shut up and play! He’s been less than “Big” in recent big games! Not sure what the heck is going on with this team either. The way the players consistently make the same mistakes over and over shows me they’re poorly coached. The 2012 Steelers remind me a lot of the 2006 and 2009 Steelers and those teams didn’t finish well! I’m just glad Dan Rooney is coming back to the team, maybe he can get this turned around!

I don’t want anyone who whines to the media about any part of the organization on my team. Ever. No team can win with guys pulling the wagon in different directions. And it doesn’t matter whether he’s ‘right’ about a particular play call. Suck it up, be a man, and keep your pie-hole shut. When you retire, then talk all you want.
